    Very good tour

We booked this tour through Lijo as a shore excursion during our stay in Mumbai. Lijo was very responsive and flexible in responding to our emails. We were met at the pier just outside Imigration and directed to our waiting car. As it turned out, we were given a private tour at the same price to what we expected to pay for a small group tour. The tour itself was well conducted and very informative. Our guide took us on a fun train ride to the massive outside laundry where our car was again waiting. Then followed a visit to a beautiful temple and the Ghana Museum and a few other fascinating sites. . At this and other locations our guide got us in to the buildings and left us to do the tour on our own. This was fine, but just a little more explanation of the important exhibits would have been helpful. Nevertheless, she was always happy to answer our questions. All in all we had a great tour and will definitely be booking our future tours in India through Lijo.

    Goa & Cochin visits.

Enjoyed two tours with this company on our recent cruise. Well organised and very good pricing compared to comparable tours with the cruise company. Especially the Kerala houseboat tour. Long drives necessary to see some places but that was unavoidable. Recommended!

    Excellent private tours

We booked 3 private tours direct with Lijo jose for the port of Cochin , Goa and Mumbai as this was our first visit to India. The tours in each city was excellent the guide and driver were on time. The guides very knowledgable and provided us with options about what we wanted to see. This tour is excellent if you want a personal guide and a very flexible programme suited to you. The tour was great value when compared to the same tour offered by the cruise. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. A very enjoyable and informative day.

    Cruise ship excursions India

We booked with Lijo’s Muziris Day Tours for our stops in Cochin, Goa and Mumbai, total of 4 days. All 4 days were superb. They met us on the dock each time, metres from the gangway. Comfortable air conditioned mini buses with top drivers. Our guides were all fantastic and spoke very good English - special mention to Kheera in Mumbai who was just delightful (see photo). I highly recommend this company for great value and a great experience. Thanks Lijo for a great time.

    Cochin backwaters, Goa & Mumbai

Cochin backwaters tour was great , the journey to the houseboat went fast as it was great seeing the local way of life along the way. The houseboat was comfortable & provided with a lovely local lunch, I loved the way the group was small & we could freely move around. Our guide Jo was great very enthusiastic & informative . Goa was also very interesting & included a lunch in the spice plantation our time was limited due to a problem with other guests. Mumbai we really enjoyed. Our guide was Herma (shortened version)she did a great job at keeping us all together as we had a few wanderers! She spoke good english & was very informative. We loved seeing the lunch box service & Laundry. We met Lijo in all 3 places and all in all , I would say doing these tours is an ideal stress free way of seeing India . Thank you Lijo & all your guides & drivers

Mumbai Private shore excursion: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.

How much does Mumbai Private shore excursion cost?

    +

Prices start at $145 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mumbai Private shore excursion take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.

Is Mumbai Private shore excursion worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mumbai Private shore excursion?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mumbai Private shore excursion suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mumbai Private shore excursion?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mumbai Private shore excursion start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mumbai?

    +

On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mumbai?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mumbai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
