Best Layover Ever
I had a 20+ hour layover in Mumbai and decided to see what I could see. Yash and Sudam helped me make the most of this time, and sold me on planning an actual trip to India. I won’t lie, I was super nervous traveling alone in a country I didn’t know much about, but I am so happy I took a chance on this tour. Yash gave great insights into Mumbai, and was really flexible on the places we visited. The local guide at the caves was also equally enthusiastic about sharing the history of the UNESCO majestic stone statues, and it’s definitely something that shouldn’t be missed. All in all, if you have time in Mumbai, I definitely recommend trying out this tour^^
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that your long layover turned into such a memorable experience and that Yash, Sudam, and our local guide at the Elephanta Caves helped you make the most of your time in Mumbai. It’s especially rewarding to know that the tour helped ease your concerns about traveling solo and gave you the confidence to plan a future trip to India. We’re glad you enjoyed the flexibility of the itinerary, the insights into Mumbai, and the fascinating history of the UNESCO-listed Elephanta Caves. Your recommendation means a great deal to us, and we look forward to welcoming you back to India for an even longer adventure in the future!

Great tour that supports a passionate and young entrepreneur
Thank you Yash for the great travel experience in Mumbai! I’ve travelled around many places in India and have taken many tours. This was definitely one of the most enjoyable. When you book this tour you’re going to get a good experience as well as supporting Yash, a young entrepreneur who is building a great business Unlike most tours I’ve experienced in India, there were no shop visits where you feel pressured to buy anything. In my case I needed a new leather wallet and Yash brought me to a store at my request. Unfortunately my tour needed to be modified due to extreme weather and Yash and I made some alternate plans after a quick conversation. Thanks again!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous review! We’re truly delighted to hear that your experience with Yash was one of the most enjoyable tours you've had in India. It means a lot that you appreciated the flexibility to adapt the itinerary due to the weather, as well as our commitment to providing authentic experiences without any pressure to visit shops or make purchases. We're also glad Yash was able to help when you requested a stop for a leather wallet. Your kind words about supporting a young local entrepreneur are incredibly meaningful and greatly appreciated. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back to Mumbai for another memorable experience in the future!

Why this scores 84
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.
How much does Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.
Is Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 150 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour?
+
Around 53 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mumbai City Sightseeing with Elephanta Caves Full Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mumbai?
+
On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mumbai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mumbai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
