    The Ghandi Museum

Our tour included a car driver and guide. We went to a huge market first with the most amazing fresh fruit and vegetables. Sadly for me there were animals and birds in cages on sale which I found quite upsetting. The highlight for us was watching the lunchbox men coming from the train placing the boxes next the appropriate number, then the bicycle man collecting them! Absolutely fascinating and amazing this still exists! It has become quite an attraction! We really enjoyed the Ghandi museum and spent some time there. Sadly it wasn’t very busy but a beautiful building and we were not rushed. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Hello Chrissie Thank you for sharing your tour experience with us! It's great to hear that you had a comprehensive tour with a car driver and guide. Exploring the bustling market with its fresh produce sounds delightful, although we understand how the sight of animals and birds in cages could be upsetting. The lunchbox delivery system you witnessed sounds truly fascinating and highlights the unique aspects of Mumbai's culture. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the Gandhi museum and appreciated the peaceful atmosphere without feeling rushed. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you back for more enriching experiences in the future! Thank you Rahul

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mumbai?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mumbai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
