100 Out of 100 Stars - The Trip of a Lifetime
If you're dreaming about visiting Scotland, stop searching and book with Dave. After nearly eight months of planning, countless emails, endless questions, and my tendency to obsess over every detail, Dave remained patient, responsive, and incredibly thorough every step of the way. His professionalism and attention to detail were second to none, and by the time our trip arrived, everything had been meticulously planned. What Dave delivered wasn't simply a tour. He delivered one of the greatest experiences of my life. This was a father-and-son trip with my 80-year-old dad, and Dave somehow managed to help us accomplish approximately 95% of my father's lifelong Scotland bucket list. From the breathtaking Highlands to the stunning Isle of Skye, and from historic battlefields to the unforgettable town of St Andrews, every day felt perfectly curated and deeply meaningful. Dave's knowledge of Scottish history, culture, and traditions is extraordinary. More importantly, he has a gift for storytelling. He doesn't just explain the history; he brings it to life. Whether we were standing in the Highlands, overlooking the dramatic landscape of Skye, or walking the historic streets of St Andrews, his stories transformed every location into an experience we will never forget. He's also hilarious. The miles flew by thanks to his humour, personality, and incredible stories. Before long, Dave didn't feel like a guide anymore. He felt like family. What impressed me most was the care he showed my father. Traveling with an 80-year-old parent comes with unique considerations, and Dave was thoughtful, patient, attentive, and accommodating throughout the entire journey. He adjusted the pace when needed, always prioritized safety and comfort, and made sure my dad could enjoy every moment without feeling rushed. On top of the planned itinerary, Dave continually surprised us with hidden gems, local experiences, scenic stops, and unexpected adventures along the way. These additions often became some of our favourite memories. It was clear that he genuinely cared about creating an unforgettable experience rather than simply following a schedule. Simply put, he gave us far more than we ever expected. My only criticism? I wish we had spent more time with Dave. That honestly says it all. If Scotland is on your bucket list, whether it's the Highlands, Isle of Skye, St Andrews, golf, castles, family heritage, history, scenery, whisky, or simply experiencing the very best the country has to offer, I cannot recommend Dave highly enough. A world-class guide. A master storyteller. A true professional. And now, a lifelong friend. 100 out of 100 stars. Thank you, Dave, for helping create memories that my father and I will cherish forever. You didn't just show us Scotland. You gave us the trip of a lifetime. 🏴🇨🇦

Dirty Dave, great guy, excellent historian and entertaining, and sings like Steve Perry!!!
Myself, my wife , and sons (18 and 16) spent the week with Dave touring Scotland. How can I sum this up??? Dave is the guy you always hoped showed up for your college party! Punctual, knowledgeable, accommodating and kept 2 teenage young men interested and laughing! We learned great history, presented in an absolutely fantastic mixture of intelligence and humor! Dave was very flexible and really "read the family"! He was part of it by the end of the week.... I would give Dave 6 stars out of 5. His rendition of "the rose" by Bette Midler and experience in rating bathroom facilities are unparalleled. We cried and were physically relieved simultaneously.... no need to search any further. He gave us great memories and more so, we have a great friend now!!! I hope he accepts our invitation to come visit! Don't look any further, this is where you start and end!!! Absolutely fantastic experience and memories!

Do Dave! He's great and can take you to every 5 Star restroom facility along route!!!
My wife, myself, and sons (18 and 16) traveled with Dave for a week. How do I sum this up?? Dave is the guy who you always wanted at your college party except knowledgeable, totally meshes with the group, and just a great human! His history lessons mixed with an appropriate amount of humor kept two teenagers interested consistently!! That's a task in itself. He was punctual, prompt, and had such an amazing attitude.... he got us going and kept us going!!! Dave is a "classic rock" guide! We'd give him 6 out of 5 stars. Not only did he make us memories we'll never forget, we have, In turn, invited him to come visit us in Oklahoma. Don't waste your time vetting other Dave's! This is your guy. And, he does a great impression of "The Rose" by Bette Midler... do Dave! You won't be disappointed and you'll gain a great friend!!

The best tour guide that doesn’t talk like a tour guide
Dirty Dave is awesome! He came recommended by another family Member that has used him twice. He is great at communication in the planning phase. He will do as little or as much of the planning as you want. He took our family of four (two older teenage boys) around for six days and it was a riot. He manages to make history fun so even the boys listened and laughed. He is not your routine boring history lesson guide but if you want someone that will make it fun, knows every bathroom in Scotland and can prepare you with a 1-5 star rating of the facilities, drives like a boss, and will constantly throw in humor to his history lesson then he is your guy!

Amazing Experience
Dave and his partner gave my husband and me an incredible vacation. We trusted Dave to plan our itinerary, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Our only complaint was that the trip wasn't longer! They were knowledgeable, flexible, and offered wonderful recommendations for dining, shopping, and local experiences that made our trip even more special. We enjoyed every minute and are hoping to return with our children for another tour in the future. If you're considering booking with Dave, don't hesitate—you won't be disappointed!

Why this scores 78
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.
How much does Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland cost?
+
Prices start at $2,998 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.
Is Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 103 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?
+
On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience in Edinburgh, The Mountebank Comedy Walk of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Old Town: Historical Guided Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Edinburgh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland?
+
Included: Private transportation; and Bad ass comentary. Not included: Gratuities. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland include hotel pickup?
+

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Multi Day Private Tour Of Scotland?
+
