    Fantastic day in the mountains!

Our Mt. Rigi and wellness experience was fantastic! Our tour guide was Lou and she was wonderful. She contacted me before the trip to ask questions about what we wanted to do and about our fitness level to make sure our trip was tailored to us. She gave us options for lunch with one option being a local mountain Swiss dairy farm and it was so fun to have a traditional Swiss lunch right in the middle of the alps. Lou was personable, knowledgeable and just so much fun! We got to see so many amazing views and Lou made sure to take us to the best spots for views and photo opportunities! We would 100% take this trip again!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled you had such a fantastic Mt. Rigi and wellness experience with Lou. We’d love to welcome you back to Switzerland anytime!

    A brilliant experience!

Our day was magical. Our tour guide Monika was truly the best tour guide we could have hoped for. She was so friendly, warm and helpful. She did everything in her power to give us the most wonderful day. She was so informative. She could answer every question about the mountains in the area, including the history, the geology as well as telling us folklore stories relevant to each location. She also intuitively gave us space to enjoy the silence when we wanted to be contemplative. We felt very safe as she knew the mountain so well and we could relax in her confidence. As it was foggy and the snow was thick we were really grateful we had chosen to go with a guide. We loved soaking in the warm healing waters. The restaurant we visited was amazing. It was the perfect day, despite having limited visibility. We came back feeling like we had everything we hoped for. -A brilliant experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful review. We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your day felt so special, even in foggy and snowy conditions. Monika will be truly touched by your kind words—her knowledge, intuition, and calm presence in the mountains are exactly what make her such an exceptional guide. We’re so glad you felt safe, relaxed, and able to fully enjoy the experience, from the healing waters to the wonderful meal. Thank you for trusting us with your time in the Alps. We’d love to welcome you back again.

    Tour of Mt. Rigi

We had a wonderful day with Andreas on our tour of Mt. Rigi. The tour included rides on a train, a boat, a cog wheel train and a gondola. Although the weather did not cooperate to allow for beautiful views, we still had a fun time. The scenery was pretty and Andreas was accommodating and knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He is a Lucerne native and knows the area exceptionally well. You will not go wrong with this tour or with Andreas.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We’re so happy to hear that you had a wonderful time on the Mt. Rigi tour, despite the weather not being on your side. Andreas is truly a gem, with his local knowledge and friendly, accommodating nature. Thank you again for recommending the tour and Andreas – we truly appreciate it. We’d love to welcome you back to Switzerland for more adventures in the future!

Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lucerne.

How much does Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne cost?

    +

Prices start at $726 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lucerne usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lucerne is not rushed.

Is Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lucerne, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lucerne can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lucerne and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mt. Rigi - Hiking & Wellness Day Trip from Lucerne start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lucerne within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lucerne?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lucerne experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jungfraujoch Top of Europe Day Trip from Lucerne, Lucerne Walking & Boat Tour: The Best Swiss Experience, Lucerne's Hidden Secrets by Electric Cargo Bike (small groups). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lucerne?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lucerne?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
