    Best countryside tour and guide!

Prem was knowledgeable about the tour and a very safe driver. He recommended things for us to see, do, and took our pictures. We stuck to the itinerary though Prem mentioned that it's customizable. We had good conversations with him and he's fluent in English. I highly recommend him to others. 5 stars!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this wonderful 5-star review! We are absolutely happy to hear that you had such a fantastic experience with Prem. Providing safe, knowledgeable, and fluent English-speaking service is exactly what we strive for, and it’s great to know that his recommendations, photography skills, and engaging conversation added that extra special touch to your day. Safe travels wherever your next journey takes you!

Guided tour to Mount Fuji with Ryu

Ryu was such a wonderful guide who was prompt and had great time management to avoid the crowds which made the day more enjoyable. His knowledge of Japanese history was amazing and the itinerary he recommended made for a highly memorable day. Mount Fuji was amazing, local restaurant he recommended for lunch was perfect and then to see Fuji after Rye parted the clouds for us to see her in all her glory was a highlight 🗻😉 Highly recommend this tour especially with Ryu.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your glowing review! We are delighted to hear that you had such a memorable experience exploring Mount Fuji with Ryu. It is wonderful to know that his knowledge of Japanese history and his ability to navigate the crowds added so much value to your day. We always aim to provide seamless timing so our guests can truly soak in the beauty of these locations. We will certainly share your kind words with Ryu—he will be especially pleased to hear that he successfully "parted the clouds" for your spectacular view of Fuji-san! We are also glad the local restaurant recommendation hit the mark. Thank you for recommending our services, and we hope to see you again for another adventure in Japan!

Enjoyable day trip out of Tokyo

My family of 4 booked this trip and Aaryen was our driver. He arrived in advance before 5.30am at our agreed timing as he advised us the day before to leave early to avoid heavy traffic and have more time for sightseeing instead of wasting hours in the notorious traffic jams. Aaryen was very obliging to suit where we wanted to go and he planned accordingly the route. We did not go exactly the route shown on Viator but spent half of our day sightseeing and the other half shopping at Gotemba Premium Outlets unintentionally, lots of laughs for our family because we intended to only go there for 3 hours but ended shopping there for 6 hours as it is a really huge shopping complex. Due to this, we exceeded the max hours on the trip but we were fine to pay the fees for the extra hours which the company was flexible to accommodate. Family had an enjoyable day trip out of Tokyo.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking time to leave us your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the time out of the busy Tokyo. We hope your memories will last forever and we hope you will visit again in the near future!

Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $448 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide?

    +

Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mt. Fuji & Hakone Private Day Trip from Tokyo w/ English Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

    +

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

    +

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
