What you get

    About this experience

A sunrise meditation hike along the San Jacinto Mountains steps from Palm Springs to a resting spot with dramatic views of the Coachella Valley. You'll watch the sun rise over Indian Canyons and come together in guided meditation setting a grounded intention for the day. We'll greet each other at the South Lykken trailhead. As we hike the trail about a mile to our meditation spot, we'll listen to the natural beauty of Oswitz Canyon. I'll lead you through a grounding meditation to help you set your intention for the day, acknowledging your connection to the Earth and the universe. Guests will walk away with stunning photos. Feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, you'll have a grounded connection to the environment, a clear mind, and an open heart. We will hear the sounds of the earth. We will see the colors of the planet. We will breathe the essence of being. We will see the universe in motion. The morning sun will expose our shadows. If the stars agree, we will see big horn sheep.

    Worth the early start!

Really special - Timothy is a wonderful guide, the hike and meditation was a great way to celebrate my partners birthday. Highly recommend this experience

    A lovely & special experience

Timothy provided an excellent hike and meditation. It is obvious he is experienced in guiding lots of people with varied levels of fitness. The meeting point was easy to find so we could then go to the trailhead. Timothy also creates an intentional schedule to allow plenty of time to stop and take in the environment while also getting frequent water breaks. We arrived at the top right on time for sunrise. The guided meditation was also wonderful. On the way down we were treated to two Big Horn Sheep on the trail, they were magnificent. 10/10!

Response from the operator: I always love it when guests call in the sheep! Thank you for starting your day with me!

    A special gift

I enjoyed the early morning hike surrounded by mountains siloutted in the twilight and the stars sparkling all around. Facing the morning sun as it crested the mountain, I felt like I was beginning my day with a special gift and a secret afforded only to those willing to rise early. The grounding meditation was purposeful, peaceful, and professional. Timothy patiently answered my questions about the area and geology. I recommend this activity.

Response from the operator: I appreciate your wonderful, kind words. Thank you so much for starting my day with you.

    Peace and Tranquility

This was the most wonderful experiences I’ve had in a long time. Timothy is an amazing guide and person. The hike to the top, the sunrise, the birds, the stillness and solitude. I came away from this experience with more peace and tranquility I’ve felt in a long time as primary caregiver to my husband, with MS. Whatever your situation is, don’t miss this one. Timothy, I’ll definitely be back to do this again next time I’m in Palm springs.

Response from the operator: Such sweet works. Thank you for your kindness; it was a pleasure to start my morning with you.

    An early morning spiritual endeavor.

Timothy is an accomplished “spiritual guide”. He has not only been practicing meditation since childhood but his own life experiences have enhanced to talk about “metaphors of life”. He was very supportive of need for physical and “mental” needs as I navigated the hike with some trepidation. You feel the beauty, warmth and comfort as well as the challenge of a sunrise hike with vigor and mental peace.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind, beautiful words.

Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Palm Springs.

How much does Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs cost?

    +

Prices start at $108 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Palm Springs usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Palm Springs is not rushed.

Is Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 93 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Palm Springs, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs?

    +

Around 33 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Palm Springs can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Palm Springs and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mountain Sunrise Hike and Meditation in Palm Springs start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Palm Springs within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Palm Springs?

    +

Palm Springs sells architecture tours through midcentury neighbourhoods, Aerial Tramway trips up San Jacinto, Indian Canyons hikes, Joshua Tree stargazing and windmill farm runs. Shade, water and pickup points separate a good desert tour from a rough one. On Outty we rank every Palm Springs experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bank Heist Escape Room Game for Private Group, Palm Springs Modernism Architecture & History Bike Tour, Vampire's Lair Escape Room Game for Private Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Palm Springs?

    +

November to April. Book dawn or evening slots in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Palm Springs?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
