A DAM good time with Neil!

Neil was an outstanding guide! My mom and I did this excursion on my birthday and absolutely loved that we were the only ones (even though it’s always a small group which makes a big difference)! While it was very hot, we knew what we were getting into when we signed up mid-July! 🤪 still, what an amazing way to see the landscape surrounding and within the Hoover Dam area! Thanks again for everything!

Response from the operator: Hi Mallory, Thanks for the great review! We are soooo happy that you had a happy birthday and an amazing adventure. We hope to see you again!

    Hoover Dam biking with Holmes

We had an awesome time with our guide, Holmes, biking the tunnel tour to Hoover Dam. He was very informative, organized, and knowledgeable about the area, fauna, and wildlife. You could tell by his attitude and demeanor that he loved showing other people the beauty that he has found in this area of the US. He is a huge advocate of outdoorsman's "Leave no Trace." Motto, if there was any trash on the trail he would stop to pick it up. We even saw a Bighorn sheep on the trail to the dam, it was trying to cross the trail right in front of us. We had a leisurely pace going to the dam. Most of it was downhill, and it was approximately 12 miles. There were a couple of hills, but a beginner to moderate skill level is all you need. Desert Adventures was easy to book and went out of their way to accommodate us. My wife and I were the only ones on the tour. Through talking to Holmes, my wife and I plan on coming back and booking the kayak tour down the Colorado River early next year. There were extra perks that they didn't have to include, but they were appreciated. I highly recommend Desert Adventures for your outdoor adventure.

Response from the operator: Hi there and thank you for the amazing review. We are happy that you had amazing time with Holmes, he is one our faves as well. We look forward to taking you on a kayaking tour, you will be blown away by the scenery and the perks we offer on that tour! Talk to you soon (we hope!)

Incredible ride with an outstanding guide

This was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. Turned out I was the only one signed up, so I had a private tour with an amazing guide. The bike ride part was really fun with spectacular views, and the tour of the dam was comprehensive and educational. Lunch was great. My guide Neil even added on a side trip to a park on the way back to view a herd of bighorn sheep. He dropped me off right at my hotel and save me an Uber ride back from the strip. Everything was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Hi there, We are so happy to hear it! We love our slice of heaven in the desert too. We hope that you come back and see us again soon.

Great day away from the strip.

Our guide Neil was amazing, full of local knowledge and “Neil facts”. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and the tour was interesting and the perfect length. Lunch at the Hoover Dam was a highlight . The riding was on mountain bikes, a couple of hills were a challenge but the rest is all flat or downhill. Beautiful scenery with photo stops on the way. Bikes could have been in better shape but we’re ok for a short ride.

Response from the operator: We're so glad you had a great trip! And thank you for your feedback, we're actively improving our bikes as we speak. We hope you come back for another adventure soon!

    Very great Hoover dam experience

Very nice bicycle tour from Boulder city to the Hoover dam. Our great guide Sarrah gave us a lot of interesting information on the area, the dam, the environment. You need to be fit for this tour (not extremely but there are some ups and downs) and we really enjoyed the sportiness of this trip as well. We had enough time also at the dam to do a tour there. So everything was perfect. It was a very hot day but our guide made sure we had enough water and we also got a nice lunch in the end.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We're so glad you had a fun adventure with Sarra! We hope you come back again, maybe try one of our kayak trips?

Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Las Vegas.

How much does Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas cost?

    +

Prices start at $207 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Las Vegas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Las Vegas is not rushed.

Is Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 46 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Las Vegas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Las Vegas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Las Vegas and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mountain Bike Historical Tunnel Trail to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Las Vegas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Las Vegas?

    +

Las Vegas sells two trips at once: the Strip after dark, and the red-rock desert that starts twenty minutes past the last casino. Helicopter runs to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam half-days and Red Rock Canyon drives all leave early, while show tickets, speakeasy crawls and high-roller dining fill the evening. Outty Ranking weighs operator reliability heavily here, because the gap between a well-run desert tour and a coach-and-queue version is enormous. On Outty we rank every Las Vegas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group: Valley of Fire Half Day Tour from Las Vegas, Small Group Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, 7 Magic Mountains VIP Tour, Grand Canyon West, Hoover Dam Stop, Breakfast, Lunch & Skywalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Las Vegas?

    +

October to April. Summer highs above 105F make midday outdoor tours punishing. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Las Vegas?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
