Nature, scenery, exercise…. What could be better?

I would commend some recent experience with a bicycle, but anyone with a decent level of fitness can do this. It exceeded our expectations. Ian does a great job. My wife loved this activity; we ended up paying extra so that we could keep the bikes all day.

Super fun morning

Totally Rad morning, from pick up to drop off just a lot of fun, the trail was just challenging enough for Novice riders and the views were amazing. Was great to see some Koalas in the wild too , highly reccomneded.

Great Experience

This was a great experience for all three of us. We are all over 50 and none of us had been on a mountain bike before. Ian (from EscapeGoat), was amazing, explaining what to expect during the ride and stopping along the way at tricky parts to guide us. He also provided great commentary and was very knowledgeable about the area. The ride itself was fantastic, and the stop at Cleland Wildlife Park was very enjoyable. Overall we had a fabulous time. Thanks Ian.

Great views, make sure you are an experienced rider

We really enjoyed the wildlife park. The views are amazing & we did see some koalas in the wild. Unfortunately, we didn’t realise that the descent from mount lofty would be on a steep gravel track…after 2 nasty falls, i was too hurt to continue… it wasn’t the gentle ride down that was advertised. This is a bike tour for very experienced riders.

Response from the operator: Hi Kathryn, thanks for the review. We do try to make it clear in the descriptions that this is an off-road mountain biking experience. Unfortunately you turned up and told us you hadn't ridden a bike for nearly 20 years! That made things tricky, and I actually rerouted the ride to stay on roads as much as I could for you. You had 2 accidents- one was a topple into a bramble bush when you stalled and lost balance. The second accident you said your wrist was sore, when you had successfully ridden the 10km down through the National Park, it was unfortunate you didn't feel comfortable to ride the final section into town, but I got the van and drove you back into town skipping the final ride through the suburbs. I am sorry this trip didn't fit your expectations, but we do make it clear (and I think the photos do to) that this is a beginner level off-road ride on a mix of dirt roads and service tracks. It's NOT a steep gravel track, although there are 2 short sections that are steeper and we encourage people to walk if they are not comfortable. It's hard to meet everyone's expectations, but this is the first time in 15 years we ever had to ride the roads the entire way down to the Wildlife Park- it's tricky if you are not comfortable on a bike I am afraid. I hope you had a great rest of your stay and visit in Adelaide and Australia, and your wrist recovered OK. Cheers, Ian

Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Adelaide.

How much does Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $175 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Adelaide usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Adelaide is not rushed.

Is Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 116 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Adelaide, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour?

+

Around 41 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Adelaide can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Adelaide and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mount Lofty & Adelaide Hills Guided MTB Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Adelaide within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Adelaide?

+

On Outty we rank every Adelaide experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Barossa Small Group Tour: Wine tasting, Lunch & Chocolate, Discover Barossa: 4 Wine Tastings, Gourmet Lunch, and Hidden Gems, Adelaide Highlights, Hahndorf & McLaren Vale Wine Tasting and Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Adelaide?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Adelaide?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
