What you'll see and do
Ijen Crater Indonesia
The trekking will take about 1 – 2 hours, depending on your fitness. Upon your arrival at the top of the crater, you will be invited to see the most famous natural phenomenon of blue fire. It’s only 2 in the world, in Ijen Crater, Indonesia and Dallol Volcano, Ethiopia. But to see closer, you must go down into the crater of Ijen. It’s pretty dangerous, so if you feel doubt to go down, we suggest to stay on the top while waiting for the sunrise. At about 6 am, you will see the best view of Mount Ijen, which is the turquoise color of the acid lake that makes the view more incredible.

Such an incredible experience
We had the best experience doing Ijen and Lucky was an amazing guide! He was so friendly, helpful and made the whole experience so much fun. He looked after us the entire way and made sure we got to all the best spots and views. Such an incredible experience and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thank you Lucky! ❤️

Blue lava and Ijen trip
The trip has been amazing, with the essential support of Rahman as a guide. Despite the long way to arrive (2h from the meeting point to the top of the mountain by walk) the view and also the experience worths the effort. Even though the blue lava fire is not natural (at the moment) it still remains a unique experience (also including the sunrise from the top). It’s not required to be trained but for sure a lot of physical effort. In addition the guide (Rahman) has been really kind to support our group, taking care of all, during the trip and taking amazing photos.

Highly recommend
Highly recommend!! Rahman was our tour guide and he was amazing. Everything was arranged for us - we got picked up from our hotel in Bali and dropped off at the ferry port where Rahman met us. The ride to and from Ijen was also already organised, as well as ferry back and the ride back to our Bali hotel. I never book tours online. I always book tours in person through the hotel/hostel so this was my first time booking through tripadvisor. this company made it so easy that I didn’t have to think. I will be recommending them to everyone. Thank you, Rahman. From Alliza and Aljon (Rahman is also an incredible photographer)

Incredible Mount Ijen Tour with Rahman & Rico — Highly Recommended!
Our trip to Mount Ijen from Bali was a truly unforgettable experience, thanks to our amazing team, Rahman and Rico! The Itinerary & Hike • Pickup & Transit: The journey started with a seamless transfer from Bali over to Java via ferry. • Homestay & Early Start: We stayed at a nearby homestay to rest up before the big night. Wakeup was at 00:00 midnight, followed by a 1-hour drive to the trailhead. • The Hike: The night trek is challenging but manageable. Reaching the top to witness the electric blue fire and a stunning sunrise over the crater was pure magic — well worth every step despite the large crowds. Special Thanks to Our Guide and Driver • Rahman (Our Guide): Extremely friendly, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. His passion for East Java brought so much joy and excitement to our entire trip! • Rico (Our Driver): Kept us safe, comfortable, and right on schedule throughout the long drive.

Why this scores 81
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuta.
How much does Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali cost?
+
Prices start at $58 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuta is not rushed.
Is Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 85 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 17. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali?
+
Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuta and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mount Ijen Blue Flame Tour from Bali start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kuta?
+
On Outty we rank every Kuta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include East Bali Tour: Gate of Heaven, Water Palace, Sleeping Gajah, Ubud Day Tour: Sacred Monkey Forest, Tegenungan Waterfall, Rice Terrace, Bali 5 Days and 4 Nights Private Tour - Best and Famous Site. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kuta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kuta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
