    Friendly and exciting

We had a fantastic driver (Yanika) who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, picked up from directly outside our accommodation in Ubud. The trek itself was amazing, our guide Jerry made sure we got up the mountain safely and provided breakfast at the top. On the way back we stopped at the coffee plantation and sampled some great coffees and teas. Ekka our host was very kind. Thank you to all for a fun packed morning.

    Best Day Ever

This was the best your I've done all trip. Ravy picked us up from the hotel and after a scenic trip past some of the local night spots we were in our way. We met our guide, Rama, at the starting point, and he was extremely accommodating of this fat Aussie who thought he could hike a mountain in converse (it's really not that hard, I'm just a little sook). After much coaching, and more than a few rests, we made it to the top in pretty good time, with plenty of time to cook some eggs in the side of a volcano and drink or coffee as the sun came up. Rama por on his photographer hat and managed to capture some amazing shots of us with the sunrise and the view from the peak, especially considering what he had to work with. Feeling invigorated by the coffee and the view we ran (parquor) back down the mountain at my ridiculous request. On the way home we stopped in at the coffee plantation. Honestly, I was so tired I nearly asked to skip it, but I'm glad I didn't. Again, more amazing views and friendly staff showed us through the plantation and served a tasting paddle of 14 awesome teas and coffees, and we splurged the AUD$5 for Luwak coffee, as where else will you find such a delicacy?? Truly amazing day that has been the highlight of my trip. Highly recommend something warm for the top of the mountain while you wait for the sun, and even more highly recommend stopping at the plantation! Do this one early in your trip, as both guides were a fountain of knowledge and tips on other things to do on the island. Not sure when I'll get back, but I'll absolutely be doing this again.

    Amazing

Thank you so much for this experience. Ravy my driver was on time and made sure I felt comfortable through out the journey to and from. Rama my tour guide so knowledgeable but extremely kind, I wasn’t feeling well and nearly cancelled all together but he was so lovely to me and made sure I made it to the top for the sunrise. After we went to the coffee plantation and Anu was amazing she made the experience so joyful. I’d highly recommend this tour, such beautiful people 🙏✨

Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.

How much does Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.

Is Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mount Batur Trekking Sunrise Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
