AVOID! Did Not Turn Up! AVOID!

AVOID! Book anyone else! They never turned up! We booked the tour through Viator and got our confirmation. The pick up was 02:00 so we planned our day, evening and following day around it. We contacted to confirm the night before but didn’t hear anything back. Assumed that the driver may be asleep given they probably have a kooky sleeping pattern. We woke up at 01:20 and got ready, outside the front for 02:00 pick up. We waited. And waited. And waited. We hadn’t been contacted or had anything through so we didn’t know how to get in touch with the company so that they would come and pick us up. At 03:00 we called it and went back to our room utterly disappointed. This was something so important to us and they ruined it. We finally were able to get through to Viator and we got messages suddenly come through from Rodrigo at On My Way to Bali. The messages went from offering a refund, to sending a driver now, to rescheduling to tomorrow. We didn’t want a refund- we wanted our experience. The driver clearly was never booked and by this time we didn’t have a chance to make it up there for sunrise, and we couldn’t go tomorrow because it was our last day in Ubud and we were leaving for the port at 05:00. In hindsight I wish I had booked any other company that this bunch of absolute cowboys. It wasn’t about the money, it was about the fact that this was our one time to hike up Mt Batur and they absolutely ruined it due to incompetence. Book anyone else. Pick any other company. Don’t let them ruin your experience like they did ours. It may be an anomaly, but don’t let you be the next anomaly- it’s not worth the risk. We did get a refund from Viator. Pictures are of us stood outside the hotel waiting for an hour while they wasted our time at 02:00.

Is Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Tour - Uluwatu area worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kuta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Tour - Uluwatu area?

+

Is Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Tour - Uluwatu area suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Tour - Uluwatu area?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuta and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Tour - Uluwatu area start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuta?

+

On Outty we rank every Kuta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include East Bali Tour: Gate of Heaven, Water Palace, Sleeping Gajah, Ubud Day Tour: Sacred Monkey Forest, Tegenungan Waterfall, Rice Terrace, Bali 5 Days and 4 Nights Private Tour - Best and Famous Site. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuta?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuta?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
