Breath Taking
Mount Batur could be a not to difficult hike but it is not as to many people in the morning, it is crowded and the trail is hurting it needs fixing to many loose stones etc but aside from that the view is amazing and breathtaking

Mount Batur sunrise trek and Sekumpul waterfalls tour. A challenging but unmissable day out.
An amazing day from start to finish. From Bot, the driver, to Juta, the Mount Batur guide, and Nyoman the guide at Sekumpal - all were polite, friendly, courteous, professional and went out of their way to help. We were staying in Ubud so the day involved a lot of travelling but Bot did a good job, a lovely man. It’s a very early start but that’s expected. I did find the climb up Mount Batur challenging; I thought I was pretty fit but it was hard going! Juta was very patient and slowed to my pace allowing for rests whenever we needed them. I’m sure younger adults would not find it a problem at all. We still got to the summit with plenty of time until the sunrise which was spectacular. So worth the climb. Juta took some amazing photos and also a lovely video that he put to music which we didn’t realise he was taking. Such a beautiful memento. The breakfast was ok - haven’t seen green bread before! Going down was much easier than the ascent but it is very slippery due to the unstable footing of the rocks. The walking poles they provide prove invaluable. Sekumpul waterfalls are stunning. They do involve some steps and slopes which wouldn’t usually be difficult, but after climbing a volcano you notice them! It’s worth taking swimwear as most people swim at the bottom of the waterfalls. You also need shoes that can wade through water. Nyoman, like Juta, also went out of his way to take some amazing photos and videos. The views are breathtaking and the trees, plants and flowers of the jungle are gorgeous. We were given a nice lunch and had lots of bottles of water throughout the day. We were very much looked after and I would thoroughly recommend this day out.

BEST MT BATUR SUNRISE HIKE WITH GERALD
Brother GERALD is the best guide. Very accommodating, friendly and good english too! We even did trail running while going down the mountain!

Great day!
I only had one day and for me it was definitely worth doing both sunrise hike and waterfall, although I was very tired towards the end of the day. Cooper, my guide for Mt Batur and Wayan, my driver for the day were the best, were both super nice and professional. As locals they could tell me about life and culture in Bali. I had a great day!

Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.
How much does Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours cost?
+
Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours take?
+
Plan for about 16 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.
Is Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 16-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 16-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mount Batur Sunrise Hike with Sekumpul Waterfalls Tours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ubud?
+
On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ubud?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ubud?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
