Really delicious and cultural.
This was a really complete and delicious tour. Adalberto is an extraordinary guide with full knowledge of the history of his hometown. Lunch was delicious! We already know why Anthony Bourdain chose this place for his show.

Don't even think of it
Nothing. I've been here but on a cruise. I figure this will give me more time to see and absorb the experience. It was a walking tour. It ended in this place that is being touted as Anthony Bourdain's favorite place. Clarification. He filmed here but did not have a specific place. My tour guide warned me that the place is a wet market, dingy, filthy and smelly. True to his word. The ground was wet and muddy. The hole in the wall is a hole with some plastic chairs and tables. You can wash your hands on a tiny sink that drips water. The menu is set. I got fried fish, coconut rice, some shredded cabbage and a sweet plantain. You can get better appearing dishes like this in a little carinderia. The walk was arduous. It was hot and humid. I was given a small water bottle. My guide spoke good English and decent but has a disability that might be a danger to him and his client. He has narrow angle glaucoma and can only see in his front. He has no peripheral vision. Oftentimes he does not know where I am or he continues to walk while i was stopping to look. I know he is trying to get a decent living . I gave hima generous tip because I feel bad for him

Like Anthony Bourdain did...
Tour was great!! I loved it so much. Adalberto was such a great guide! He explained everything about the history and was very nice and funny! Lunch at the Bazurto Market was also delicious. Now I understand why Anthony Bourdain went there specifically for lunch.

+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". How far in advance should I book MOST COMPLETE FULL CITY TOUR with ANTHONY BOURDAIN STYLE LUNCH?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

+
On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cartagena Antigua & Barrio Getsemani group with audio system, Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cartagena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cartagena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
