Exceeded our expectations
We went on this tour yesterday with Aanish, and it was a very well-planned experience from start to finish. The itinerary was organized, and we got to see so many incredible places. All of the lakes were absolutely amazing, and Johnston Canyon was breathtaking. Our tour guide Aanish also took some fabulous photos for us, which was a lovely bonus. Just be prepared—it's a very long day (12 hours from Calgary)! I recommend bringing plenty of snacks and water to keep your energy up. The meeting point is conveniently located just across the road from the hotel, making it easy to find. If you come prepared, you'll have a fantastic day and create some wonderful memories. Thanks Aanish for being so welcoming and sharing your experiences with our family 🇦🇺
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience with us! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your Rocky Mountain adventure and that the itinerary allowed you to experience so many incredible places, including the beautiful lakes and Johnston Canyon. We truly appreciate your kind words about Aanish. He will be happy to know that his welcoming attitude, knowledge, and photography helped make your family’s day extra special. Creating memorable experiences for our guests is what we love to do. Thank you also for sharing the helpful tip about preparing for the full-day tour from Calgary. It is a longer adventure, but we hope the amazing views and memories make every moment worthwhile. We sincerely appreciate you choosing Matrix Tours and Travel, and we hope to welcome your family back to the Canadian Rockies again in the future!

A Dismal DayTour!
The busses are old, dirty, and you will be packed into very small seats with little le room. Our day was warm & humid and the air conditioning was not working properly. Our driver, Aashish was a very nice young man from India. His accent was so heavy that we could only understand bits and pieces of his narrations. Very disappointing tour!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the discomfort with the bus and air conditioning. We’ll address these issues with our team. We’re glad Aashish was kind, and we’ll continue to help him improve clarity in his narration. We appreciate your honesty, and we hope to give you a better experience next time.

Magnificent!
I enjoyed the sequence of visits. The driver-guide Ashish was proactive, experienced, and pleasant. A beautiful day. We had a great view!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the itinerary and had such a memorable day. We truly appreciate your kind words about Ashish and will be sure to share your feedback with him. We're glad the beautiful scenery made such a great impression. We hope to welcome you back for another amazing adventure soon!

Great sights, poor experience.
I have been on several good viator tours, this was not one of them. While the sights were all worth seeing, even in the rain, our guide was lacking. He was more of a driver, not a guide. Gave us very little information along the way, except when to be back at the bus. He got us there and back safely, but did the bare minimum. Nowhere near the usual viator standards.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful sights despite the rainy weather and that you felt safe throughout the journey. We are, however, sorry to learn that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our tours are primarily sightseeing experiences, and our drivers focus on ensuring guests travel safely and arrive at each destination on time. We understand that some guests prefer more detailed commentary and information during the tour, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Your feedback will help us improve the overall guest experience. Thank you again for traveling with us. We value your comments and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Wonderful experience
Our experience was wonderful. The views were breathtaking, and I can’t forget them. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful. He always came by to check on us and helped capture photos for us.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful experience and that the breathtaking views left a lasting impression on you.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Banff.
How much does Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Banff usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Banff is not rushed.
Is Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Banff, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Banff can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Banff and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Moraine Lake , louise , Emerald & Johnston Canyon Adventure Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Banff within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Banff?
+
On Outty we rank every Banff experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and the Icefields Parkway Full-Day Tour, Hop-On and Hop-Off Banff Bus, ShuttleBus 2way Banff to Lake Louise (1Hr) and Moraine Lake (1Hr). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Banff?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Banff?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
