Do Not Recommend

We toured the 2 towns but were unable to do the winery tour because it was closed. This was a very expensive trip and the main thing we wanted to do, the winery tour, was unavailable. After requesting a partial refund (our driver was very kind but there was an obvious error with his agency) we were denied. I would not recommend this tour. It is very expensive for what it is and we were very disappointed. This tour should not be offered in December. Both towns had very little open and when we pulled into the winery, there was no one there and it was very obvious they had no idea we were coming.

Response from the operator: Dear Customers, your review is not true, because you refused to enter the winery for the wine tasting and asked to be suddenly driven back to Rome. We have also confirmed the partial refund you asked for, to show our honesty towards Customers. We don't think it is appropriate to answer the comments on Montepulciano and Pienza, two renowned historic towns in Tuscany.

Noble winery in Montepulciano is awesome but manage your driver and know the itinerary

We loved the town of Montepulciano and the Noble wine tour. Our guide was awesome and she spoke great English. We had so much fun and that town was awesome. We thought we were getting lunch and stopping in two more towns. We went to another random winery in the middle of nonwhere to try picnic wine. They were surprised we were there, we waited a long time in the heat , and then we're rushed out. The only food we got was at a highway rest stop. We loved Montepulciano so much we would do it again but the tour is as good as the driver and that combination needs to be managed as ours really let us down. There was definitely a language barrier.

Response from the operator: We are sorry for what you reported. Please contact us by email (italianlifetour@gmail.com) to share more information. All our staff takes care of the success of each tour and we always work to ensure it

Great day trip from Rome in the Tuscan wine region!

Massimo was our driver and he was fantastic. So polite and professional! We had one stop at a Church before the Canetto winery, then free time in Montepulciano. We did not need a guide in that village and wished we had more time to shop and snack. Drinking great wines on a hillside with Tuscany in the background was magical and a great break from Rome. Daniella at the winery was just lovely and made our experience very special. Even the teens loved this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review !

Great winery tour

Our guide to Montepulciano, Mr. Stefano, was absolutely wonderful. His knowledge of the area and willingness to explain everything to us was imperative to our trip. We were taken to the Canetto family winery, the lady that took care of us was Daniela, she was so sweet and knowledgeable. We really had a great experience, sipping noble wines on the side a hill, overlooking the very acreage and people that produced the wonderful wines we got to enjoy😊. If you like wine and nice people, this is the tour for you. Thank you, Troy and Nicole Franklin

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review. We are very proud you appreciated our tour. Looking forward to see you soon in Rome

Montepulciano, winery and Pienza

The pleasant young driver arrived promptly at our hotel in a nice comfortable car. Bottled water was not offered or provided. "Lunch" was to be provided, a cheese and meat board was served at the winery during our tasting which I would not consider to be "lunch". The scenery was beautiful, the wine hostess was fabulous and aside from the few short comings it was a great trip to Tuscany.

Response from the operator: Thank you for review! We are glad you enjoyed your tour. Our customers' feedbacks are always an opportunity to improve, for us. As for the lunch, it was not included in your reservation. Ivana

Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome cost?

+

Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Montepulciano Noble Wines tour in Tuscany from Rome start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

+

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

+

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
