There are few places where the Arawak name "Xayamaca" - land of rivers and springs - is more apt. The Spaniards called the area "Las Chorreras" - the waterfalls or springs - and it is truly one of the most beautiful spots on the island. A stone's throw from Ocho Rios, one of Jamaica's fastest growing resort centres, Dunn's River Falls is unique. Described as a living and growing phenomenon, it continuously regenerates itself from deposits of travertine rock, the result of precipitation of calcium carbonate from the river, as it flows over the falls. The small dome-shaped cataracts are usually associated with thermal spring activity found in limestone caves. This, combined with its location near to the sea, gives Dunn's River the distinction of being the only one of its kind in the Caribbean, if not the world.

Rustic, yet homely, and conveniently located in Drax Hall, the restaurant is open from 11:00a.m. - 11:00p.m., Scotchie's Drax Hall is the place to enjoy two great Jamaicans - jerk meats and Red Stripe Beer. Jerk chicken is an authentic style of Jamaican cooking where the poultry is dry-rubbed with special seasonings and peppers. While there are a ton of places on the island that cook good jerk, no place does it better than Scotchies. With one of their prime destinations being in Ocho Rios, the rustic restaurant serves up a wide variety of jerked items including chicken, pork, and sausages. Amazing views and the climb wasn’t that bad! The pics were amazing! I strongly suggest swim shoes with grips! Plus, if you can ask for Jermaine as your driver if you can. He’s well mannered, knows his country, and we loved him.

Terrible service. Can’t believe Viator can do this.
The local service provider arranged by Viator dod not come to pick us up 10 AM as scheduled. We waited for one hour and did not come. Then the hotel arranged another excursion for which we paid $179 extra. Viator not only should refund our money for the excursion we booked but also for $179 paid for another excursion. Terrible service. We are nit happy at all. ☹️😩

Our driver Akari was awesome from start to finish! He was very patient and knowledgeable. He did not ever make us feel rushed. Highly recommend!

Website needs updating
Website needs to be udpated. I specifically looked for places that would pick us up at our hotel. This one confirmed that we did. The morning of the excursion, the driver never showed up. They explained the next day that our hotel was outside their range.
