Oaxaca by Locals - A Great Time Learning and Wandering
My daughter and I took a trip to Monte Alban, an alebrije workshop and a black pottery workshop with Pavel as guide and Aron as driver. They were both a delight to be with; very knowledgeable, personable, patient and flexible. We learned a lot about the history of all three locations which included the opportunity to watch the artists at work. I loved the fact that the guides were very accommodating and gave us plenty of time to wander in all three locations and gave me a hand, literally, with climbing up and down the steps at Monte Alban. After taking this tour and a few others with Oaxaca by Locals I would recommend them without reservation.

Montealban is a beautiful place. The guide was great.
It was beautiful and the driver and guide were great. The van was not that confortable .There are alebrijes in San Martin with better quality. The place where we ate was bad.
Response from the operator: Hola! Sin duda hay muchos lugares para visitar, pero desgraciadamente no se pueden visitar a todos en un solo día. Saludos!!

The Monte Alban experience
Tour and guide was superb. His background in archeology enhanced our experience. His knowledge and explanations were not notch. Don Rosalio Felix treated my family and myself with courtesy and a deep regard for someone seeking knowledge beyond cursory and superficial facts about the people, place and events at Monte Alban. Without reservation I recommend the operator of this tour. On a closing note, Mr. Felix even accommodated our need for cool refreshments on what was a hot and very sunny August day. Truly a scholar and a gentleman.

Excellent guide, excellent experiences
Guillermo our guide was excellent. I was the only American on the tour, and he took the time to translate the historical and archeological points of interest at Monte Alban and to make sure he answered my questions. Both the alebrijes and black pottery workshops were fascinating and informative, and there was never any pressure to buy. The objects in both places are so high-quality and beautiful it's difficult to decide which ones you can't live without! Be aware that because of Covid and the vacation season here in Mexico, it can take more than an hour and a half to be admitted to Monte Alban; you sit in the van and wait for your turn. As in many places in Oaxaca, the number of visitors allowed is restricted.
