A must do Experience!
Title: An unforgettable adventure in the Amazon with Kelwin! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an absolutely fantastic experience! Exploring the Amazon jungle with Kelwin was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Peru. Kelwin is an amazing guide, full of knowledge, passion, and genuine love for the jungle. He made the whole experience feel authentic, personal, and unforgettable. But what really made the adventure special was Kelwin himself. Such a kind-hearted, funny, and genuine person who made us feel more like friends than tourists. We came to the Amazon looking for adventure, and we left with incredible memories, legendary stories, and a new friend. If you’re visiting Iquitos and want a real Amazon experience, I can’t recommend Kelwin enough! Thank you for everything, brother. Until we meet again!

Great Amazonian guide
Thank you Kelwin. What a great experience. We had great communication over the past few months since enquiring. We were picked up right on time, taken by tuk tuk to the port, private motor boat that took us through the Amazon river. Stopped at Fundo Pedrito where we fed some animals (paiche and panas)and got a lot of information about the local wildlife and plants (largest aquatic plant -victoria Regia) From there we went back down the river toward the monkey island. We even saw a few glimpses of grey dolphins (the boat driver will stop at any sighting to try get videos/pictures). At monkey island you're passed over to one of the guides there who tell you all about their rehabilitation, the names of the monkeys you meet and what they do before sending them back into the jungle. Amazing experience. After this we followed the rover back towards Iquitos stopping at the viewpoint of independence village , we climbed the stairs to see the most amazing view from the top. Then a short tuk tuk (you can walk) to the tree la Lapuna (the avatar of the Amazon) a huge tree. Then back to Iquitos. Everything was very well times and organised. Any questions you have, Kelwin is more than happy to answer. Highly recommend him. Thank you again.

Fantastic start to my trip
Kelwin is a fantastic tour guide with kind, warm energy. He took an active interest in what I was enjoying and had a great knowledge of everything we went to see. I had another tour booked for the floating markets with somebody else but have cancelled that after Kelwin, who's lived there for 45 years, offered to show me round instead. You will be in safe hands if you choose this tour!

Amazon day tour
We met Kelwin in the Malecon, and we vibed immediately, and chose to have our tour with him. Kelwin is an amazing tour guide and took great care of us. His English is very good and he is a very friendly and nice person. The tour to the Belen market was very interesting, as was the floating village of Belen. He showed and explained to us the various things found in the market. After that we took a boat to the Amazon river and were lucky enough to see grey river dolphins in the wild. Then we also got to visit a monkey sanctuary on Islas de Monos, were we loved learning about the different species and the good work they do to protect and take care of them. Then we visited the tree of life, a huge and tall tree in the jungle nearby the river, that was such a great experience. The end of our tour felt a bit off, we visited two different animal rescue places, but I don’t believe they really are, the animals were in cages and we got to feed them as well as asked if we wanted to pet the animals, this seemed a bit off.. if it is a real rescue senter they would not allow this. However, many tourists want this experience and are maybe not concious of the harm they are doing. All the tourist operators in Iquitos promote this type of tourism and it seems to be the normal. However as animal lovers we did not enjoy this part of the tour. Additionally the visit of the indigenous tribe also felt like a tourist show. Nothing authentic about it. If you care about animals, maybe ask Kelwin to skip the two “rescue” spots and ask for a personalized and more animal friendly tour. Even though we were not so happy with this part of the tour, I still would highly recommend Kelwin as your guide in the Amazon.
