Day tour spoilt by inexperienced guide
This was supposed to be a small group luxury 10 hour day tour. Unbeknown to us the tour was actually two halves with my partner and I the only people on the first half, to the medieval villages. As it was only us we asked if we could visit Grasse but not do the perfume factory and the guide agreed. But then took us to the factory - we thought we were just parking there but were then taken off for an hours guide and to the shop. To be fair we did enjoy this, but it wasn’t what we had agreed with him. But we then saw none of Grasse. We then spent 30 minutes in Gourdon which is a wonderful village and had enough time for a quick coffee. We were told we were going to have a photo stop at Tourettes sur Loup but then he refused as he said he couldn’t park anywhere. Next stop at St Paul de Vence where we had enough time to grab a sandwich and see the village. He said several times ‘it’s a long day’ and we felt like we were being rushed round. He then needed to go into Nice to collect the other 6 joining the group and to collect a power cable from home. As Nice is so busy this added a lot of time. He didn’t seem to then cope with 8 guests, lacked organisation when we went to the next stops and it was the group telling him where to meet and asking about how long we had at each place. As we were so late for the last stop, we only had ten minutes to enjoy the garden at the top of Eze. Rather than drop us at a place such as in Monte Carlo he made us go into the car park with him. He didn’t seem to know what he was doing. Shame as this had the potential to be a great tour. We did enjoy the places but the guide spoilt the experience due to the lack of it that he had.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your opinion, I first notice that you were lucky to be alone the first part of your day, what followed then does not seem to be so abnormal, except for the fact that the customer went home to pick up a cable which is not normal, in Monaco the procedure is so we cannot leave you at the bottom of the Rock and let you walk for 30 minutes, you have to go to the parking lot to take the elevators, visit times are about 45 minutes per stop for the Shared tours which allows you to discover and come back on your own to stay longer and choose your favorite places On the other hand, the Eze garden is not included in the organization of the tour Please read the description and the downtime so as not to be on it

Visited places we would never have seen on our own.
Our driver Michel was terrific. Super knowledge and so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the visits to some of the villages in Provence like Eze. But Gourdon was special. We would have liked more time there but overall the outing was well worth it. Michel even took us around the F1 Circuit in Monaco which was great.
Response from the operator: Many thanks for your nice feedback I hope to see you very soon in our region Best regards AMandine

French Riviera tour with François Xavier
This was definitely the highlight of our trip. Out guide, François Xavier (FX), was absolutely phenomenal. He has so much knowledge on the history of France and is very personable. I have done many tours and FX is by far the best tour guide I have ever had. The villages were so beautiful and Monaco was awesome! Highly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you Robert for your comment we are happy to see that you enjoyed your day with FX

Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nice.
How much does Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $1298 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nice is not rushed.
Is Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nice and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Monaco and Perched Medieval Villages - private & Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nice?
+
On Outty we rank every Nice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include ★ Walking Tour of Old Nice and Castle Hill, NO DIET CLUB - Unique Local Food in Nice !, Nice City Segway Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nice?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nice?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
