A Bday Experience I will never forget for all the wrong reasons

I booked Miami ATVs as a birthday gift to myself, largely because of their five-star reviews. Afterward, I found customers on other platforms saying they were pressured to leave a five-star review in order to receive their pictures at the end of the excursion . I can’t personally verify those claims, but it certainly changed how I viewed the ratings that convinced me to book in the first place. Once me and my party arrived to their location, and the moment I stepped out of my car, I was swarmed by what felt like hundreds of mosquitoes. Though I understand we were in the Everglades, I had absolutely no idea they would be that intense!!!! Had I known, I would have chosen a different city in Florida for this experience. Before getting started, I purchased insect-repellent stickers and armbands from the company for myself, my 16-year-old daughter, and my brother. Between the pre booked ATV rides and the insect-repellent products, I spent well over $200 with this company. Shortly after using the repellent products and being bitten multiple times, I became extremely lightheaded, nauseated, and passed out. What stood out to me was that after I removed the insect-repellent stickers, I gradually began to feel better. That naturally made me wonder whether I may have been reacting to the repellent, although I have no way of knowing for certain. I want to be fair: I am not saying Miami ATVs caused me to become ill. I still don’t know whether my reaction came from the mosquito bites, the repellent products, a combination of both. What I do know is that my 16-year-old daughter had to watch her mother pass out, scared and not understanding what was happening to me. That was far more upsetting than simply missing an ATV ride. Tiffani, who is one of the staff members there was extremely kind to me while I was there. She checked on me and made sure I was okay, and I genuinely appreciated that. However, once I returned home to Georgia and called her about the situation, the interaction felt completely different. From my perspective, she came across as extremely cold. She told me she would speak with the billing department and call me back. I never received that call. I live in Georgia and had to travel home the very next day. I was offered a credit, but realistically, what am I supposed to do with a credit for an ATV company in Florida when I won’t be returning to Florida for another few years? I understand policies, and I understand that a refund may not technically be owed to me. But being allowed to keep someone’s money and choosing to keep it under circumstances like these are two very different things. I didn’t simply change my mind or miss my time slot, I was genuinely ill and no one in my party participated. Human to human, I simply don’t understand why you would want to keep someone’s money under those circumstances just because a policy says you can. I understand you may not have to refund me. I just don’t understand why, given everything that happened, you would feel comfortable keeping my money. When a company has the opportunity to show compassion but chooses the money instead, it’s difficult for a customer not to view that as greed.

The experience itself was so fun and I enjoyed myself. We didn't end up having anyone else in our group so it was just my son and I. The women at the counter to check us in was very friendly, as was our guide. The main problem I had was that we had to pay $75 extra for a head covering and goggles on top of the $120 for the experience. There was also supposed to be a fee for a passenger but that was waived.

First Time Rider, Long time Advocate

If was my first time riding an ATV I had a blast Javier and Allan was the greatest guides. They explained the rules and made my first experience fun. The Admission fee was affordable, the Length of the ride was great for the money you pay for.

Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Miami.

How much does Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger) cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Miami usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger) take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Miami is not rushed.

Is Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Miami, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger)?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Miami can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Miami and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Miami ATV Off-Road Adventure: Day & Night Rides (Free Passenger) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Miami within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Miami?

    +

Miami splits between the water and the neighbourhoods. Biscayne Bay boat tours, Key Biscayne snorkelling and Everglades airboats cover the first, while Wynwood mural walks, Little Havana food crawls and South Beach deco tours cover the second. We rank Everglades operators carefully: many depart from Miami but the good ones run their own boats rather than reselling seats. On Outty we rank every Miami experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2 hrs Miami Private Boat with Cooler, Ice, Bluetooth Stereo, Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in Miami, Miami: 2 Hour Private Yacht Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Miami?

    +

November to April, dry season, before hurricane and humidity months. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Miami?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
