Most visitors to Mexico City never make it to Narvarte at night. They stay in the neighborhoods they know, follow the same online lists, and miss one of the city’s best areas for eating after dark. This tour steps outside that version of Mexico City. We walk through Narvarte tasting four sides of the city’s taco culture: smoky costilla grilled over open coals, pastor sliced from the trompo, rich suadero, and a wild-card stop chosen for what is best that evening. Along the way, hear about Mexico City’s history and the stories behind the food, learn how migration and neighborhood life shaped the way the city eats, and experience the casual counters and sidewalks that give Narvarte its character. We finish the night over a beer together, talking about what we ate and enjoying the neighborhood after dark. This is not a polished restaurant crawl or a list of places chosen because they are popular online. It is the kind of Mexico City night people usually discover only after living here.

CDMX Experiences - Tacos in Navarte

What a fantastic way to experience another side of Mexico City! We’ve visited CDMX many times, but Narvarte was a neighborhood we had never explored. Our guide, Josh, was excellent! His passion for food and love for Mexico City really came through in the stories he shared. He was personable, knowledgeable, and encouraged us to try new things. He also generously shared recommendations for other places to explore, several of which are already on my list for my next visit! If you love food and want to experience Mexico City beyond the usual tourist neighborhoods, this tour is absolutely worth your time and money. Highly recommend!

    The right taco tour

If you're looking for someone to simply show you some amazing taco and food spots in Mexico City, this isn't the tour for you. If you're interested in the stories behind the food, the history of the city, and the culture of its people, this tour is it. And you get all of that while sharing bites from places that might be Michelin-starred or local legends that fly under the radar unless you're in the know. You really can't lose with this one. Come hungry, ask questions, and enjoy the experience. Happy exploring and eating!
