Wonderful day exploring...
Wonderful day exploring the city and tasting local food. Andrea was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We learned how to ride subway as well as walked over 13,000 steps. Salsa making and tasting was fun and tasty. Restaurant owner was very genuine. You could tell she loved teaching her craft of salsa making and sharing her heritage.

It was an absolutely...
It was an absolutely incredible, professional and at the same time very welcoming experience. Axel knows so much about the history, languages and art of all the visited places. He was always ready to dive deeper and answer questions. He made us feel very safe and watched out for us at every little turn of the streets. It was a very wholesome experience, it actually felt like a city tour with a friend (maybe because he and I are foodies and love music?). The cooking course at Ramoncita's in the end felt like coming home. She and her family are an institution at the market. We were overwhelmed at how welcoming everyone was and how much everyone took care of us clumsy Europeans. Thank you so much for this experience. We will never forget it. This tour is absolutely recommended, the money is worth it. Axel's communication skills, cultural awereness and hospitality are impressive.

A wonderful tour off the beaten path!
Andrea was an exceptional guide. By the end of the tour, it genuinely felt like I was exploring Mexico City with a friend. She was knowledgeable, warm, and made the experience feel personal. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

Perfect introduction to the city!
This tour with amazing guide Axel was fantastic. He was extremely kind, knowledgeable and made the whole day fun. Every stop was interesting and delicious. There is no way we would have found these places on our own. The subway trip was really helpful as well, especially on our first full day in the city. Loved making our own salsa too. Take this tour!

Why this scores 81
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson cost?
+
Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 320 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson?
+
Around 112 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mexico City Market Secrets, Street Food & Salsa-Making Lesson start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Teotihuacan 3 Pyramids Tour + Hotel Pick Up + Lunch at La Gruta, Historic Center Essentials: Mexico City Downtown Walking Tour, PREMIUM Frida Kahlo Museum and Xochimilco (Small Groups). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
