Minca-coffee tour- pozo Azul
On the day we did the tour it was just my boyfriend and I. We got picked up at our hotel outside town which was great since we did not have to go into town first. The driver ended up being our guide as well today because not many people had signed up so if this happens he is the guide and driver. His name was Oscar and he was wonderful. His English is limited and our Spanish is limited but we still worked it out. Technically we had booked this as an English tour but we got by OK so we do not have any complaints about this, just be aware that this possibly might happen if not enough people sign up. The coffee plantation tour was great. Very interesting even though it would’ve been fun to see a smaller plantation a bit less touristy than the Victoria coffee plantation but it seems all tour companies go to this one. the guided tour there was in English and the guide was very competent plus the coffee tasted great and the scenery was beautiful. Then we went to the water hole/small fall/small rapid- Pozo Azul. This part of the tour could’ve been skipped. It was very touristy with probably 100 people in and around the small water area and the trail there was filled with motorbikes and tourists. Mosquitoes and sandflies are everywhere. The best part of this short hike was the gorgeous bamboo surrounding the trail. We had lunch which was included add a local restaurant in Minca. The food was great service was great. No complaints. Again Oscar was fabulous. Really nice pleasant knowledgeable man.
Response from the operator: Hello good day Thank you for choosing us for this tour. and apologize for the amount of people in the blue hole but it's something that comes out of my hands. charles

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Marta.
How much does Mendihuaca and Sacred Pool Tour cost?

How long does Mendihuaca and Sacred Pool Tour take?
+

Is Mendihuaca and Sacred Pool Tour worth it?
+

That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Marta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Mendihuaca and Sacred Pool Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mendihuaca and Sacred Pool Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Marta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Marta and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mendihuaca and Sacred Pool Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Marta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santa Marta?
+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santa Marta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santa Marta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
