3 excursions only because there was nothing left!
We booked three excursions with Marckos on the beach, and they were fantastic. They were all private so you were able to do everything at your own pace with just your family. Our first excursion was 4 parts; waterfall, rain forest(with lunch), horseback riding and zip lines. We did about 9 lines zip-lining. I have a 9 year old and 12 year old that were able to do everything. The waterfall was pretty, but no ability to swim under it which was disappointing. Walking through a small rainforest, we were able to see 6 sloths, including a baby, a toucan and an eye lash viper. We then had lunch before horseback riding. The lunch was delicious. We rode through woods and pastures for about an hour. The entire excursion was about 7 hours. A few days later we did the ATV to the beach. It was about 30-45 minutes on the ATV to a beach. Then another short ride to a point to look over Catalina. We then drove down to Catalina beach and was able to get out and swim for a while. After that we drove to another beach where there was a margarita bar. Then we drove back 45 minutes or so. We love being able to drive and speed and this was perfect for us. The last excursion was an ATV ride to Las Pilas waterfall. Its about an hour ride to the waterfall on the ATV. You get to drive through 15-20 creeks and rivers on the way and way back so you can get a little dirty! You can jump off Las Pilas into a deep pool. Marckos will take good care of you at extremely fair pricing.

Stole Sandals while on excursion
Marco and his crew stole my sandals and said they would return them the next day. I tried reaching out to him but he would return respond.

Waste of time
These guys didn't even show up. Don't waste your time booking. Thankfully we didn't hand over any money up front. We were asked to meet up at 7:30am. Eventually a guy on a motorbike turned up, made a phone call and then tried to charge us more for the tour to go ahead.

Scammed, did not deliver and did not give deposit baxk
Met Marco at the RIU, seems legit but he was not! We booked a catamaran for 13 guests paid a 300.00 deposit as requested on cash. He gave me a receipt that clearly said catamaran. We were so excited about the catamaran as we were celebrating birthdays. The day of tour Marco shows up with a small sailboat that could not safely accommodate us all. He said that the catamaran had issues which he should have told us prior. We requested refund of 300.00 to which he said he would bring to the resort in the morning. Needless to say Marco went Missing and now not answering calls nor did he return the money. I don’t recommend.

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mega Combo Family Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa Flamingo.
How much does Mega Combo Family Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $190 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa Flamingo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mega Combo Family Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Flamingo is not rushed.
Is Mega Combo Family Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Flamingo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mega Combo Family Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mega Combo Family Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mega Combo Family Adventure?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Flamingo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Flamingo and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mega Combo Family Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa Flamingo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa Flamingo?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Flamingo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flamingo, Guanacaste All Inclusive Catamaran Snorkel Adventure, Adventure Pass, Playa Flamingo Catamaran Tour with Snorkel, Lunch, Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Flamingo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Flamingo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
