Great local experience to learn about Moroccan cooking

Hana met us at La Boqueria and gave us a quick tour of that market, highlighting local products. Her actual shopping was done in Raval neighborhood stores in a multi-cultural environment. The class was held in her home which was able to accommodate our group of four. Given the size of our party, the cooking was more focused on demonstration of the cooking tools and methods. The meal included appetizers, soup, the tajine and two desserts. We had our choice of chicken or lamb and opted for the chicken. The food was tasty and the company enjoyable. It was nice to experience a bit of local life.

A great food shopping and Moroccan cooking lesson

We had a very authentic cooking class with Hana. She gave us a choice of a Moroccan or a Catalan menu, and we chose the Moroccan one (lamb tagine, couscous, etc.) to make in her kitchen. The entire experience felt very “real”. While we met Hana outside La Boqueria, of course we didn’t buy the ingredients there! Instead, she took us to small stores where she shops at – an Islamic butcher for some lamb, an Awami store for mint, parsley, and cilantro, another Awami store for spices, and even an Aldi for some blueberries. The main dish we made with her was a lamb tagine in one of her tagine pots. As we cooked together, she explained the techniques and spices that she used. We’ve taken a number of cooking classes before, both on vacations and at home, and Hana’s was different in that hers was very practical. She tailored the taste to our preferences (my wife loves cinnamon and cilantro, I’m on low salt, etc.) and she also talked about getting the best value for the ingredients. In addition to the tagine, we made a soup, couscous, some kind of fried bread, a milky dessert, and mint tea. We had a fantastic time!

    Great small group cooking experience!

Hana was a wonderful host for a small group. Her recipes were delicious, and her ethnic neighborhood was interesting and apartment was inviting. She has lived in Spain for 22 years, but is from the U.S., so her English is perfect. Our small group of three had snacks, soup, fried harina bread, chicken tajine, dessert and cava of course! We left with recipes to make our own meal at home!

Response from the operator: Hi all, It was so nice spending the evening with you. Have fun trying the recipes. tajine Fried harsha Harira soup caramelized onions hummus malahabia 😊

Excellent morrocan cookery workshop and meal.

Had an amazing experience on this cookery workshop with Hana. Had an informative pre workshop experience buying some of the produce and spices in the market then back to Hana’s home for the workshop. We cooked three wonderful courses in her fully equipped kitchen and enjoyed a most wonderful meal with drinks after . An amazing experience , learned loads as Hana is an amazing cook and host . 5 star experience 🤗🙏

Response from the operator: Ohhhh Thank you so much Anne. I'm so happy you enjoyed the experience. I had a wonderful time doing my cooking workshop with you. Safe travels, Hana

Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop cost?

    +

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop take?

    +

Plan for about 3.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 3.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Master Moroccan Tajine Hands On Workshop start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

    +

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

    +

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
