What you get
About this experience
With your raft captain at the helm, board your sturdy raft for a cruise down the 3-mile stretch of the well-known Martha Brae River. This exhilarating journey takes about 75-90 minutes on the long, 2 person bamboo rafts poled by your skilled guide. The upper part of the river causes the raft to go at a good pace, before slowing farther down river, where you may stop at "Tarzan's Corner", for a swing and a swim, in a calm pool. Witness an awe-inspiring phenomenon at the Mystic Lagoon. On arrival at twilight, you will be met by your host, who will offer you a welcome drink. The lagoon is full of tiny, harmless microscopic organisms that sparkles and glistens when disturbed. You will see an eerie light, illuminating from the back of the boat, and all around from the wake. Swim around and bask in the glow, or just relax with a hand or foot in the water. Your Captain will explain this truly amazing sight! You also will be treated to a Fire Show, Limbo Dancing and a Jamaican Dinner.

Rafting & luminous lagoon
The Martha Brae river rafting was just great - special thank you to Ronaldo AKA Rasta Pasta for being such a friendly and informative guide ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The lagoon experience was an amazing natural wonder The only down side was the 3 hour wait in between the two excursions We weren’t made aware so didn’t bring much money with us or anything to do There was a bar and some music towards the later part of the wait

We had a wonderful ride...
We had a wonderful ride down the Martha Brae, they were running a little behind and we had to wait. But then we got a wonderfully talented Captain, Reynoldo. He was very knowledgeable, funny and great to listen to. He even reversed the raft to pick a flower I admired. Highly recommended tour. THANK YOU!

Wonderful
This experience was amazing. Our driver Jemelia was above expectations. She was friendly and helpful. This was by far my favorite excursion my whole trip. I will book with her again next time in Jamaica.

Great rafting experience
Martha Brae rafting was amazing. Very peaceful, 45-50 min with very friendly and warm raft captains. I’d have given 5 starts to this part of the tour. It’s the timing of the tour which is a big issue. From Montego Bay, we were done with the rafting and we’re dropped at the place for luminous lagoon at 4 pm whereas that tour starts only at 7 pm - we had NOTHING TO DO FOR FULL 3 hrs and that place is deserted enough to not try and want around so you’re basically holed at a pier/restaurant. This tour should have a start time of 3:30 pm instead of 1:30 pm. The luminous lagoon itself was good (4 on 5). The Caribbean world tour company that runs this tour are very friendly and professional but they also weren’t aware of the weird timings (they thought I had made the time selections myself) - it seems there’s a disconnect between trip advisor and them on this specific tour.

Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montego Bay.
How much does Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth cost?
+
Prices start at $225 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Montego Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Montego Bay is not rushed.
Is Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montego Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montego Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montego Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Martha Brae Rafting and Luminous Lagoon from Montego Bay and Falmouth start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montego Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Montego Bay?
+
On Outty we rank every Montego Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Montego Bay Airport Transfer to Negril, Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Private Tour from Montego Bay, Appleton Estate Admission Ticket & Distillery Tour with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Montego Bay?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Montego Bay?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
