4/5 – Stunning Waterfalls but a Few Things to Know in Advance
The Ouzoud Waterfalls themselves are absolutely breathtaking and well worth the long and fairly arduous journey from Marrakesh and back. The scenery is unforgettable and the experience as a whole was definitely a highlight. A couple of points to be aware of, though. Our tour guide was friendly and enthusiastic, but very persistent with high-fives throughout the day, which became a bit much after a while. More importantly, you’re taken to a restaurant for a fixed-menu lunch that is not included in the tour price. This isn’t made clear until the end when they come around for payment. Had I known in advance, I would have preferred to choose my own restaurant. Despite those niggles, it was still a good trip with truly stunning natural beauty. With clearer communication on the lunch situation, it would have been even better.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback. We’re delighted that the Ouzoud Waterfalls and the scenery made the journey worthwhile and became a highlight of your trip. We appreciate your comments regarding the guide’s style and the lunch communication. Your feedback is very valuable, and we will work on making the lunch details clearer in advance to avoid any confusion. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you on another tour in the future.

Fun day out, beautiful views
Really fun, the waterfalls are beautiful. Rhe hike was fab, food was lovely. It was so fun to see the monkeys. The tour guide Yunus was great! However we did get back much later than expected so we missed our transfer and had to rush to the airport.

Enjoyable Day
Very enjoyable trip, bear in mind (we didn’t), the distance from Marrakesh to Ouzoud, it will take a couple of hours, including a short break on route to stretch your legs and get some refreshments. Once at the Falls, we were introduced to our guide for the day (Younes Akouray Ghandi), who was friendly and informative, (he also was able to speak in several languages, to ensure everyone in the group were kept informed). We had a walk around a couple of displays where Argan Oil was being made, prior to our walk down the hill path. On route we saw various troops of monkeys, there were also several stalls selling an assortment of wares. You can buy nuts to feed the monkeys, although many guides will have treats for them and gladly share them with you if you want pictures with the monkeys (keep your bags close as the monkeys will run off with them as they think they contain treats). There are a few cafes on route should you need to rest or get refreshments. Once at the bottom, there was a short queue for the boat, once aboard the rower will take you out close to the falls, then they will moor up to allow photos to be taken. After the boat it’s time to commence the ascent (you will descend on one side of the falls and ascend via a different path). Once again the path has a number of stalls on route and also small restaurants. Our group stopped part way up and had some food and drinks, before continuing our walk up. The walk isn’t too taxing but bear in mind the total walk is about 3km, over uneven ground with many steps. There are Donkeys available for those who may struggle with the ascent side of the walk, we didn’t use them, but did see other people taking advantage of them so I have no idea how much they would cost. On our return journey we also had a 15 minute break, to allow for drinks etc. A long day (purely due to the distance), but an interesting experience.
Response from the operator: We are extremely happy to hear that you had a great time with us during your visit. We sincerely thank you for your positive feedback and we hope to see you again very soon

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 60 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Marrakech : Ouzoud Waterfalls, Guided MountainTour & Boat Ride start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
