Mellah
The Mellah in Marrakech, the city’s Jewish Quarter, was established in the 16th century during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. It was created to house the growing Jewish community, who were often involved in trade, craftsmanship, and medicine. Jews had been present in Morocco for centuries, but the Mellah became their center of life in Marrakech. Over the centuries, the Mellah flourished with numerous synagogues, schools, and businesses, becoming a vibrant community. However, in the 20th century, many Jews emigrated, especially after Morocco gained independence in 1956. The population of Jews in Marrakech, and Morocco as a whole, significantly dwindled, but the Mellah remains an important symbol of Jewish history in the city. Today, it is a key tourist destination, with historic synagogues, the Jewish cemetery, and remnants of its once-thriving community.

Didn't show up at all. Made excuses later.
Well, how do you review a guide who didn't show up to a meet and then claimed that trip advisor gave them a wrong time. Somehow I doubt tripadvisor is at fault here, especially since their customer service was top notch in getting situation sorted out.

Good tour eventually
I got to location ahead of start time. After waiting a few mins I messaged the organisers to ask where the guide is, to be told he was looking for me (there was no one there). When I sent a picture to prove I was at the location , the story then changed that the guide was not well and another would be there in 15 mins. 20 mins later was told he was there (he walls not and walked over a couple of mins later). The poor guy did not at first know what tour he had been asked to do. So I showed him the title. Once going, the actual tour was good and tailored to me. The guide did his best, however marking the overall experience down due to the really poor start.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re truly sorry for the confusion at the beginning of your tour. At the meeting point, there are often more than 15 guides present. We all know each other and usually help connect guides with their clients to make things easier. However, on this occasion, it seems there was a misunderstanding. We believe you may have been inside Argana Café while your original guide was waiting outside for 15 minutes but unfortunately did not see you, and then left after a no show. As soon as we realized the situation, we arranged for another guide to come immediately. He is one of our best guides, and although there was a short delay of 10 minutes, he did his best to make up for it. He extended the tour, included extra sites like Medersa Ben Youssef, and even offered you some drinks. We always do our best to provide a great experience, and we truly regret that the start did not meet expectations. We appreciate your understanding and are glad to hear that you still enjoyed the tour overall.

Went with a group around Medina. He was always looking out for us and telling us to be careful and checking if we were OK from the sun ect. Very knowledgeable, open to questions and good at explaining the history of the places we've seen and Marrakech in general. Definitely worth a booking 👌

The Best Way to Discover the Medina of Marrakech
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Medina Tour – Highly Recommended! I had an absolutely fantastic experience exploring the Medina of Marrakech with our tour leader. The tour was incredibly well organized, and our guide was both knowledgeable and passionate about the city’s history and culture. From the moment we started, they made everyone feel welcome and engaged. Walking through the vibrant souks, discovering hidden riads, and learning the fascinating stories behind the old walls of the Medina made the whole experience unforgettable. Our guide explained everything in a fun and clear way, answered all our questions, and showed us places we would have never found on our own. What really stood out was the guide’s energy and friendliness. They created a great atmosphere for the group, making it feel more like exploring the city with a friend than a formal tour. It was the perfect balance between history, culture, and local tips. If you’re visiting Marrakech and want to truly understand the Medina, I highly recommend booking this tour. It’s an authentic and enjoyable way to experience the city, and you’ll leave with wonderful memories and a much deeper appreciation of Marrakech. Don’t hesitate — this tour is definitely worth it!

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Marrakech City Tour by Redone : Morning & Afternoon Options start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
