About this experience

This private day tour takes you on a journey through some of the most beautiful countryside in Australia. Locals go for the Region, not the Margaret River township. There are many Attractions, Wineries, Breweries, Caves, Forest drives and stunningly beautiful beaches in the region and I will guide you to places that suit your taste. Margaret Rivers wineries are internationally celebrated and it is one of the most environmentally diverse regions in the world. The township of Margaret River is approximately four hours south of Perth and for many this sounds like a challenging drive. I include stops along the way which are historical, cultural, naturally beautiful, local and fun! Specially selected small country towns and locations are chosen for the unique characteristics which make them stand out from the ordinary. The tour can be customised to include your special interests and offers the experience that suits you. **Not all options listed in the itinerary are possible.

What you'll see and do

  1. Ludlow Tuart Forest National Park

The Ludlow Tuart Forest is a beautiful forest drive approaching Busselton town.

    Pass by without stopping

  2. Busselton

Originally a seaside timber port and now a busy regional hub and popular holiday destination, Busselton has grown considerably into an impressive major country town in the south west. A stop at the Jetty is a must. The Train & Underwater observatory tour is a 2 hour experience. Please consider if a brief 25min photo stop is enough as time on this tour is precious.

    30 minutes here

  3. There are a number of impressive caves available and Ngilgi Cave is only one of them. Because of the travelling distances in the region, caves south of Margaret river (Lake, Jewel & Mammoth) are generally avoided. Especially if the full Busselton Jetty/Underwater observatory tour is included in the day.Time simply doesnt allow for Jetty & Cave tours together. A very brief photo stop at the Busselton Jetty is an option if Jewel, Lake OR Mammoth cave are of interest.

60 minutes here · Admission not included

  4. Canal Rocks

One of the Margaret river regions many stunning coastline options - Canal Rocks boardwalk takes you over rushing tidal, incredibly deep blue waters. The entire coastline offers breathtaking beaches & dramatic rock faces.

    40 minutes here

  5. Vasse Felix

The oldest winery in the region. An excellent cellar and restaurant. Lunch and tastings can take up to 2 hours so please consider if this is a highlight, a brief stop or if you dont drink - not a stop at all!.... There are many other excellent wineries in the region. If wine is your only focus you can expect to visit 4 - 6 wineries on this day tour. Contact me to discuss this option specifically.

    40 minutes here

  6. Cowaramup

Locally known as "Cowie" or "Cowtown" this kooky little town holds an impressive Guiness World Book of Records for the most number of people wearing Cow Onesies....Excellent Chocolate stop at Temper Temper.

    20 minutes here

  7. Margaret River

Margaret river is a town, a river & a region. This tour focuses on a triangle between Busselton, Cape Naturaliste & Margaret river. With over 140 Cellar doors in the region its the wine that people know Margaret river for but there is so much more than just the township and the viticulture. Amazing diversity in landscape and coastline is also a highlight with dazzling beaches and beautiful forest drives. Little townships with their own unique appeal, chocolatiers, Nougat and wonderful food.

Lovely locations & well visited

Enjoyable ,but average & over priced

Response from the operator: Thanks Harry. Commissions on bookings through this platform are around 29%. Given rising fuel prices at the moment that makes it hard on small operators. Im glad you got to see all you wanted in the day.

Outstanding Margaret River Wine Tour

Booked and took an outstanding Margaret River wine tour with Peter. He is very friendly, interesting and accommodating. From the moment we booked on his website, his communication was prompt, clear and relevant. Not being familiar with the wineries in the area, he offered suggestions, then tailored those suggestions as he learned more about what we were interested in. He also set expectations on what we could expect to do given the distance from Perth. The day of he was on-time (early) to pick us up. As the day went on he further tailored our experience after seeing what we were enjoying and the pace we were progressing. He was accommodating and while he had a rough timeline/schedule laid out he was willing to deviate as he felt would enhance the experience. I wouldn't hesitate to book with him again for any Perth area tour. Well done!

Response from the operator: Thanks Gentlemen it was a pleasure to work with a couple of dedicated, seasoned proffessional wine lovers. Congrats on taking out the record for S E V E N wineries in a tour. . . .nice work & thanks again.

Super Days with Perth's Tiny Tours!

My husband and I had two excellent tour days with Peter of Perth's Tiny Tours! Each day was customized to our interests, and we covered a lot of ground from Perth, including the two oceans, the Pinnacles desert, sand dunes, and Heirisson Island to see kangaroos! This is the way to do tours: Peter was a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide who delivers on what is planned, includes great stories related to the sights on the way, and we just loved our time seeing the beauty of Western Australia! On top of that, he's a great photographer! :D We are so grateful for his excellent communication (we planned this just from his website and text messages, from the eastern US) and super days. Thank you to Perth's Tiny Tours, we hope to see you again in the future!!

Response from the operator: Thanks so much Ms & Mr R. Was a pleasure.

Margaret River Private Day Tours: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Perth.

How much does Margaret River Private Day Tours cost?

+

Prices start at $203 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Perth usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Margaret River Private Day Tours take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Perth is not rushed.

Is Margaret River Private Day Tours worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Perth, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Margaret River Private Day Tours?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Margaret River Private Day Tours suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Margaret River Private Day Tours?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Perth can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Perth and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Margaret River Private Day Tours start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Perth within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Perth?

+

On Outty we rank every Perth experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Optus Stadium Tour, Pinnacles Desert Sunset Dinner and Stargazing Tour, VIP Swan Valley Wine Tour - Premium Small Group Wine & Gourmet Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Perth?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Perth?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
