Tenuta Poggio al Rigoloccio is located in Gavorrano, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, a region renowned for its historic iron and pyrite mines. This extraordinary mineral-rich soil, combined with the constant sea breezes, gives our wines their elegance, freshness, distinctive minerality, and remarkable ageing potential. Our story is one of an exceptional terroir, but above all of the people who bring it to life every day. Working among the vineyards and in the winery, we are guided by passion, dedication, and deep respect for tradition, carefully following every stage of the grapes' ripening. At the same time, we continuously refine our vineyard practices to enhance the mineral character of the soils and express the authentic identity of every wine. Guided by the vision and expertise of Cellar Master Gerhard Sanin, we transform these grapes into wines of structure, character, and personality—authentic expressions of the land from which they originate.

Exceptional Wines in a Stunning Setting
If you're looking for an authentic Tuscan wine experience, this winery is a place you shouldn't miss. From the moment you arrive, you feel completely surrounded by nature. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with flowers, Mediterranean plants, and a lovely fountain that creates such a peaceful atmosphere. The wine tasting was fantastic. We started with wines from the winery's first estate in Northern Italy and then moved on to their wonderful Tuscan wines. Everything was explained with passion, making the experience both enjoyable and interesting. The tasting was accompanied by a delicious platter of local cheeses and cured meats, which paired perfectly with the wines. What made this visit truly special wasn't just the excellent wine, but the warm hospitality and the beauty of the place. If you're visiting Tuscany, I highly recommend stopping here. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and I would happily come back again.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful and detailed review! 🍷🌿 We are delighted that your visit to Poggio al Rigoloccio was one of the highlights of your trip to Tuscany. It means a lot to us that you enjoyed not only our wines, but also the peaceful setting, our gardens and the tasting experience with local specialties. We are especially happy that you felt the passion and warmth behind what we do. We would be delighted to welcome you back to Poggio al Rigoloccio for another tasting and another taste of the Maremma.

Is Maremma Wine Experience: 5 Wines & Local Specialties worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Maremma Wine Experience: 5 Wines & Local Specialties?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siena can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?
+

+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
