Great hike with few people on the trails.
I always include hiking as part of my trips but also wanted to do this one to see how I responded to the altitude. Although the ride was bumpy on a single lane dirt road with no guard rails and significant drops, the trip was well worth it. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful—only a few other people on the trails. I like that the area is managed by a cooperative of local people. My guide, Marco, was great. As a struggled a little due to the altitude, he was patient offering needed breaks. Great experience!

Wonderful experience. Carlos made the tour interesting and fun. The road to Marcahuasi which is on the side of the mountain is part of the adventure and not for the fainthearted.

Great Solo Experience and Beautiful Day!
This was a fun journey through from Lima to Marcahuasi. Lots of switchbacks up and down a few mountains before arriving at the park where Marcahuasi is. I saw a few animals like lizards, cows, falcons, vizcachas, geese, and some beautiful rock formations and views. Carlos was very fun and informative and it was great to see a different part of the countryside without going too far from Lima!
