    Best Tour in Kona!

The Manta Ray Night Snorkel was the absolute highlight of our stay in Kona. Sam and Brianna were amazing and so knowledgeable about marine life. We’ve been on larger boat tours which tend to feel impersonal and rushed. The smaller boat/group size felt personalized to our needs and was very enjoyable. We saw many manta rays and Brianna did a fantastic job with us in the water and videoed our manta ray experience for us. We can’t recommend them highly enough!

    Manta Ray Night Snorkel Review

The Manta Ray Snorkeling was amazing! Meeting everyone was very easy and it was seamless to get on the boat. Sam and Brianna were very nice to all of us, and we even saw some spinner nose dolphins too. It is definitely worth the price! The Manta Rays went really up close to us, and I thought that was an amazing experience. Brianna was very helpful guiding us toward the manta rays and helping us have a safe experience! Overall, I would rate this excursion highly!

Amazing Sunset Boat Ride and Manta Ray Snorkel Experience!

The Manta Ray snorkel with Sam & first mate Brianna was the highlight of our trip to the Big Island. My teen daughters loved the fact that it was an all woman run boat; they said "yay, no crusty old dudes". The Zodiac is a beautiful, sparkly clean boat and their snorkel equipment and wetsuits are top notch. Also loved the small group, Brianna towed us around in the water to find the mantas. My eldery parents did not snorkel but loved the sunset boat ride and had a great time talking to Sam and another boat captain while my girls and I snorkeled. The Mantas were a bit shy at first, but right before we got out (45 min in the water) one beautiful Manta ray came and did several rolls right under our board, which Sam videoed for us and sent later. So Magical and a wonderful once in a lifetime experience! This was our one big splurge of the trip and well worth the money! Do not hesitate to book with Mid-Pacific tours, they are amazing!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review! It was such a pleasure having your family aboard, and we're thrilled that everyone—from your daughters to your parents—had a memorable evening with us. We're so glad you enjoyed the small-group experience, our equipment, and, of course, that magical manta encounter at the end. Those final moments with the mantas are unforgettable, and we're happy we could capture the memory for you to take home. Mahalo for trusting us with your family's special night on the water and for recommending Mid-Pacific Tours. We hope to welcome you back for another Kona adventure someday! 🌺🤙 — Sam & Brianna Mid-Pacific Tours

How much does Manta Ray Night Snorkel Adventure in Kona cost?

    +

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Big Island of Hawaii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Manta Ray Night Snorkel Adventure in Kona take?

    +

Is Manta Ray Night Snorkel Adventure in Kona worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Big Island of Hawaii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Manta Ray Night Snorkel Adventure in Kona?

    +

Is Manta Ray Night Snorkel Adventure in Kona suitable for kids and families?

    +

How far in advance should I book Manta Ray Night Snorkel Adventure in Kona?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Big Island of Hawaii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Big Island of Hawaii and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

The Big Island is volcano country: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tours, Mauna Kea summit stargazing, night manta ray snorkels off Kona, Waipio Valley lookouts and coffee farm visits. Summit tours have real altitude rules, so we weight safety detail. On Outty we rank every Big Island of Hawaii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include KONA Manta Ray Night Snorkel - FREE re-ride if no Sightings, Big Island in a Day: Volcanoes Waterfalls Sightseeing and History, Big Island: Captain Cook Snorkel On A Power Catamaran With Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

April to October, though the island runs year round. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
