The olden day suburb now at the heart of the city, Malleswaram evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and curiosity among Bangaloreans and outsiders alike. A large modern mall and the typically South Indian street shopping side-by-side, Malleswaran presents to you a quintessential slice of the south Indian life, modern and age-old. Malleswaram was visualised and built as a suburb, where the blue collar middle-class stayed, far enough from the central business district of the day, but close enough to take a short ride by horse carriage, or in rare cases by car. As employees of the British government or the Mysore Raj, or researchers and scientists at the IISc, the early inhabitants of Malleswaran tended to be upper-middle-class, mostly Brahmins, Bharatanatyam patrons, the influence of which can be seen to this day. Exploring this authentically South Indian Malleshwaram, this walk take you through delights of south Indian life:

Discover a new side of Bengalore
I had a very lovely afternoon with Vidya. She has such a great personality, she's super friendly and very knowledgable, I learned a lot about Bengalore and Indian culture during this tour! I highly recommend it to see a different side of Bengalore than the usual tours. Starting time was flexible, which is very convenient with the unexpected Bengalore traffic, I really appreciated that.
Response from the operator: Hi, Thank you for such a lovely feedback for Vidya. She's a gem. Hope to see you again in Bangalore and on one of our Unhurried tours. Cheers, Poornima

Great intro to Bengaluru
We had a great time with Sita this afternoon and gained a good understanding of the background of the area. We saw inside several signicant places that we would have just walked past withour our lovely guide. Sitar took the trouble to find out about us and the stories and information she shared gave us a real insight into this special area of the city. Big thanks
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a lovely review for our colleague Sita. Hope to see you again on another Unhurried tour with us

Perfect morning
Unhurried helpfully organised a tour for me at very short notice and I’m so happy they did. My guide, Poornima, had grown up in this part of Bengaluru and knew it inside out. But not only was she full of stories of that neighbourhood, she was able to explain a lot about the history of the area and city generally - architecture, archeology and religion. We had a wonderful gentle morning strolling around the neighbourhood and sampling wonderful snacks including best idli ever. I could not think of a better way to spend a morning in Bengaluru. Thanks so much!
Response from the operator: Dear Carol, Thank you so much for this awesome review. Look forward to your next visit to Bengaluru & hopefully a trip beyond the city. regards, Poornima

Great tour of an authentic Bangalore neighbourhood
Really interesting and relaxed tour of a lovely part of Bangalore - Malleswaram. Poornima was a helpful and knowledgeable tour guide. I also enjoyed the snacks along the way
Response from the operator: Thank you for such warm words. I enjoyed doing the Malleswaram tour for you. It's one of my favourites too. Look forward to your next visit to the city.

Malleshwaram Walk: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangalore.
How much does Malleshwaram Walk cost?
+
Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangalore usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Malleshwaram Walk take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangalore is not rushed.
Is Malleshwaram Walk worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bangalore, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Malleshwaram Walk?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Malleshwaram Walk suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Malleshwaram Walk?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangalore can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangalore and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Malleshwaram Walk start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangalore within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bangalore?
+
On Outty we rank every Bangalore experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangalore city tour with English guide & multi language support, Mysore tour from Bangalore by tourism ministry approved company, Bangalore Through the Ages: Lalbagh, Temple & Market City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bangalore?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bangalore?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Malleshwaram Walk?
+
Included: Breakfast. Not included: Private transportation. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
What languages is Malleshwaram Walk offered in?
+
It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Malleshwaram Walk?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
What happens to Malleshwaram Walk if the weather is bad?
+
This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
What do travelers say about Malleshwaram Walk?
+
Across 7 reviews averaging 5.0 out of 5, recurring themes include knowledge and storytelling, the guide. Reviewers describe the commentary as informative rather than scripted.
