A rip off, a total waste of our time and money
This tour is a rip off. It is listed as Malaka City Tour with River Cruise and Lunch. There was no Malaka City Tour. The driver took us straight from our hotel to the river boat pier. The river cruise went a mile or two up the river then returned to the start for a total of about 30 minutes. There was recorded audio supposedly telling us about the features along the river, but it was inaudible. The cruise was short and relatively useless. After the cruise we walked to the car and the driver took us to lunch at a Malay restaurant. The food was interesting and pretty good. After lunch he took us back to the hotel. The drive to/from Kuala Lumpur was 2 hours each way and we were gone a total of 6 1/2 hours so about 2 1/2 hours in Malaka. The driver was nice and spoke good English, but he seldom spoke and didn’t tell us about anything we passed en route or while in Malaka. Bottom line, we paid almost $300 for a ride to Malaka for lunch, which was not worth half that. It is very disappointing that Viator lists a tour that doesn’t do what the name or description implies, very poor quality control.
