Bebo food tour

Bebo who’s born and raised in Cairo has helped him to have a deep roots knowledge of Cairo and the people, he constantly made sure we were happy and satisfied throughout our food tour. Visited a few shops for dinner and sweets afterwards which we were able to bring back to our room. We enjoyed his company and would not hesitate to book with him again. He is kind, soft spoken and truly a honest genuine gem in the big city. Good luck in the future Bebo, we will miss you 🥰 G & C from Canada

Response from the operator: Dear G & C , Thank you so much for this incredibly heartwarming review. Reading your kind words truly made my day and brought a big smile to my face! 🥰 I am so glad that you enjoyed our time together exploring the authentic flavors of Cairo. Sharing the true heart of my city, its people, and its food with wonderful people like you is exactly why I love what I do. I thoroughly enjoyed your company as well; it felt less like a tour and more like strolling through the city with friends. Thank you for your trust and for calling me a 'gem'—that means the world to me. I wish you both all the best in Canada, and I truly hope our paths cross again in the future. You will be missed here in Egypt! Warmest regards, Bebo

Not up to par with other food tours

Our tour guide was very friendly but was not proficient in English. He tried his best to provide us with a good experience however. But we didn’t get to learn about Egyptian cocktails nor consume one. We went to two restaurants where we were served full meals. It wasn’t a tasting experience. The food was good though, but it also wasn’t from street vendors. We also walked through some pretty seedy neighborhoods. It was definitely not up to par with other food tasting tours I have experienced.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback. It was truly a pleasure to spend time with you, and I genuinely felt the warmth of being with family during our tour. Regarding the street food tasting, we did enjoy koshari as advertised in the tour description, but I always choose clean and trusted places to ensure my guests’ comfort and safety. After that, we also tried traditional Egyptian fava beans and crispy falafel stuffed with cheese. Later, I offered you a choice of dessert based on your preference, whether ice cream, oriental sweets, or a mix of fresh fruit juice cocktails—the choice was entirely yours. I was very happy to have you on my tour, and I truly hope to welcome you again in Cairo for another experience in the future.

Walking Food Tour

Hapi is a very friendly and warm person. He offered to do the food tour close to our hotel. We had koshary and tahmya, and he got us some desserts to take back to our room.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I’m glad you enjoyed the food tour, the local flavors, and the experience near your hotel. Wishing you a wonderful time in Cairo, and hope to see you again!

An unforgettable food experience in downtown Cairo

Since my friend and I were in Cairo on a visit, we decided to join this food tour based on my cousin's recommendation —and it turned out to be an amazing experience. Our tour leader, Bebo, guided us through a couple of fantastic local restaurants in downtown Cairo with great knowledge, professionalism, and genuine passion. From the very beginning, Bebo was friendly, knowledgeable, and deeply enthusiastic about Egyptian food and culture. The tour was perfectly organized and offered a wonderful variety of dishes that truly represented the authentic flavors of Cairo, including local favorites and hidden gems we would never have discovered on our own. Bebo also took the time to explain the history behind each dish and restaurant, which added real depth and meaning to the experience. What truly stood out was his warm personality and attention to detail—he made us feel comfortable, welcomed, and well taken care of throughout the entire tour. I highly recommend this food tour to anyone visiting Cairo who wants to experience authentic local cuisine with an excellent guide. Thanks to Bebo, this tour was truly one of the highlights of our visit.

Response from the operator: Dear Alberjacob, Thank you so much for your lovely review! I’m really happy to hear that you had such a great time on the tour and that it became one of the highlights of your visit to Cairo. It was a true pleasure showing you around downtown Cairo and sharing some of my favorite local spots with you. Knowing that you enjoyed the food, the stories behind each place, and the overall atmosphere truly means a lot to me. I always want my guests to feel relaxed, welcomed, and fully immersed in the local culture. Your kind words honestly made my day. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your Cairo experience, and I’d be more than happy to welcome you again anytime—there are always new flavors waiting to be discovered! All the best, Bebo

A Taste of Home

As an Egyptian-Australian who left Cairo as a child, returning to Egypt felt like a dream. I grew up hearing stories about the flavors of my homeland, so I was incredibly eager to finally try authentic Foul, Ta’ameya, and that perfectly spicy, delicious Koshary. My friend Gina booked us a food tour with Bebo, and it was the highlight of our trip. Bebo is a wonderful person—professional, respectful, and has a welcoming smile that makes you feel right at home. The tour was perfectly organized and so much fun. I truly can’t wait to join Bebo again on my next visit to Egypt.

Response from the operator: Dear Mage, Thank you so much for this beautiful and heartfelt review. It truly means more to me than words can express. I’m incredibly honored that our food tour could be such a meaningful part of your return to Egypt, and that it helped reconnect you with the flavors and memories of home. Sharing authentic Egyptian street food and stories with guests like you is exactly why I love what I do. It was an absolute pleasure having you with us, and I’m so happy to hear that you felt welcomed, comfortable, and at home throughout the experience. Your kind words about the tour and my hospitality truly made my day. I can’t wait to welcome you back on your next visit to Egypt for more delicious bites and unforgettable moments. Warm regards, BeBo Owner & Food Tour Host

Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.

How much does Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet cost?

+

Prices start at $9 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.

Is Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Magic Cairo Dining Experience : Street Food or Nile Cruise Buffet start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cairo?

+

On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cairo?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cairo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
