Great Tour
Jesus our tour guide was exceptional. The building is beautiful. Viator or vendor changed the meeting place and the start time but only notified us if new meeting place. We missed first part of tour and several others did as well.
Response from the operator: Dear Todd, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the Royal Palace and that Jesús made such a positive impression with his exceptional work as your guide. We’ll be very happy to share your kind words with him. We’re very sorry, however, about the confusion regarding the meeting point and start time. We understand how frustrating it must have been to receive information about the new meeting location without being clearly informed of the time change, especially as this resulted in you and other guests missing the first part of the tour. We truly appreciate you bringing this communication issue to our attention, as clear and timely information is essential to ensuring a smooth experience from the very beginning. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again for a completely seamless experience. Kind regards, Fun and Tickets Team

Beautiful palace
The palace was very opulent. The guide provided minimal information. At the end of the palace tour an option to see the royal armory, as we chose to follow through with this option we were told we could not have the guided tour of the church that was part of this package. No other option was offered. Not to return to the royal armory after the guided tour or to have guided tour of church at a later time. Very lack luster experience.
Response from the operator: Dear Lisa, We agree with you. The Palace is beautiful. We apologize for not having met your expectations with regards to the content and timing of the different parts of the tour. Your comments will help us to improve our tours. Warm regards, Fun and Tickets Team

Very delayed start- we...
Very delayed start- we waited 30 minutes in a line to leave the meeting point- thus our actual tour was very rushed. Be careful booking- we did not get a guided tour of the cathedral, only the palace. Paid extra for cathedral. Guide was very vague about entrance to cathedral on our own and we could find a way in. Guessing it was closed- he didn’t tell us.
Response from the operator: Goodw day Anna, Thanks for your patience during the check in before the visit started. We apologize for not having met your expectations with regards to the Cathedral part and will look into this internally. Kind regards, Fun and Tickets Team

Great Tour of the Royal Palace
One of the locations on our list to visit while in Madrid was the Royal Palace. Upon doing the research, we learned that lines could be a bit long, so finding a tour that allowed us to skip the line was important. Our tour guide, Ander, was great. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made the tour an enjoyable experience. He was very knowledgeable about everything in the Royal Palace. He shared some interesting nuggets of information about historical points on our way to the Palace. Our group consisted of about 12-15 people. Not a large group, but large enough that the receivers and headphones certainly came in handy to ensure we could hear everything Ander was sharing. Here are the two reasons why I couldn't rate this tour as excellent. The check-in process was a bit clunky. Not horrible, but we had to wait on the side of the street to get checked in one by one, and it felt a bit disorganized, especially in an area where there are a lot of tourists and easy to get lost in the shuffle. Here is the primary reason that I knocked down the rating. The title of the tour is a bit deceiving. We booked the tour as it noted that it was a Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral guided tour. The guided tour itself was only for the Royal Palace. Our guide left our group after the Palace tour, and we walked over to the Cathedral, where we entered on our own and walked around. I thought perhaps I had read the description incorrectly; however, I looked over it again, and it states that it is a guided tour for both the Palace and Cathedral. It was a bit disappointing that the description didn't align with the tour itself. However, I cannot knock on the great job Ander did during the part of the guided tour in the Palace. It was a great tour, but not sure if the cost aligns with what the actual tour was.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed and balanced review. We're delighted to hear that Ander made your visit to the Royal Palace both informative and enjoyable. His sense of humor, historical knowledge, and ability to keep the group engaged are qualities that our guests often appreciate, and we'll be sure to pass along your kind words. We also appreciate your positive comments about the small group size and the audio system. As you mentioned, having headsets can make a big difference when navigating busy areas while still being able to follow every explanation comfortably. At the same time, we'd like to thank you for your constructive feedback. We understand your observations regarding the check-in process and how it could have felt a bit confusing in a busy tourist area. Feedback like this helps us identify opportunities to improve the overall experience from the very beginning of the tour. We also understand your disappointment regarding the Cathedral portion of the visit. Expectations are especially important when choosing a tour, and we appreciate you taking the time to explain where the experience differed from what you anticipated. We will share your comments with the relevant team so they can review the information provided and ensure it is as clear and accurate as possible. We're grateful that, despite these points, you still enjoyed the experience and were able to discover the Royal Palace with the help of a guide who made such a positive impression. Thank you for choosing Fun and Tickets during your visit to Madrid. Best regards, Fun and Tickets Team

Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $54 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 88 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour?
+
Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Madrid Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
