The Madaba Map, also known as the Madaba Mosaic Map, is part of a floor mosaic in the early Byzantine church of Saint George in Madaba, Jordan. 2. Mount Nebo

The summit of the Siyagha, 700 m above the Jordan Valley overlooking the NE part of the Dead Sea, is believed to be Mount Nebo, the place where Moses - the prophet revered by the three monotheistic religions - has been shown the Promised Land, and where he died. Today, Mount Nebo is an active Memorial, Franciscan monastery, and archaeological site that attracts visitors from the whole world, not only because of its historical and religious significance, but also because of the outstanding artistic value of the architectural remains and Byzantine mosaics that it preserves and displays.

    3. The Baptism Site Of Jesus Christ

Situated on the eastern bank of the River Jordan, nine kilometres north of the Dead Sea, the archaeological site consists of two distinct areas: Tell Al-Kharrar, also known as Jabal Mar-Elias (Elijah’s Hill) and the area of the churches of Saint John the Baptist near the river. Situated in a pristine natural environment the site is believed to be the location where Jesus of Nazareth was baptized by John the Baptist. It features Roman and Byzantine remains including churches and chapels, a monastery, caves that have been used by hermits and pools in which baptisms were celebrated, testifying to the religious character of the place. The site is a Christian place of pilgrimage.

    What a fantastic day

We had the pleasure of exploring Madaba, Mount Nebo, and the Baptism Site with Laith, and from beginning to end, everything was perfect. Laith was such a wonderful person to have with us — friendly, easygoing, respectful, and incredibly helpful. He made the whole day feel comfortable and relaxed. Whenever we needed help, he was there, and he was always happy to make suggestions and help us get the most out of every stop. The places themselves were beautiful, but having Laith with us made the experience even better. He was never rushing us and always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. We especially appreciated his kindness and genuine hospitality. You can tell that he really cares about his guests and wants them to leave Jordan with great memories. Thank you, Laith, for such a wonderful day! We truly enjoyed every moment and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly driver in Jordan. Five stars without hesitation

A Beautiful and Unforgettable Day in Jordan!

Our one-day trip to Madaba, Mount Nebo, and the Baptism Site was a truly wonderful experience and one of the highlights of our time in Jordan. Each place was special in its own way. Madaba was fascinating, especially seeing the incredible ancient mosaics and learning about the city’s rich history. Mount Nebo was breathtaking — the views were absolutely beautiful, and standing in such an important historical and biblical location was a very meaningful experience. The visit to the Baptism Site of Jesus was particularly memorable. The peaceful atmosphere and spiritual significance of the place made it a very special part of the day. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to experience these important sites rather than simply visit them as a tourist. Everything was comfortable, well organized, and relaxed. We had enough time to explore, take photos, appreciate the surroundings, and truly enjoy each location without feeling rushed. What made the day even more enjoyable was the excellent hospitality and professionalism throughout the trip. We felt welcomed, safe, and well taken care of from beginning to end. If you are visiting Jordan, I highly recommend this day trip. Madaba, Mount Nebo, and the Baptism Site offer a beautiful combination of history, culture, breathtaking scenery, and spirituality. It was a meaningful experience that we will remember for a long time. A perfect day and a wonderful way to discover another side of Jordan. Highly recommended

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amman.

How much does Madaba Mount Nebo and Baptism Private Guided Tour cost?

Is Madaba Mount Nebo and Baptism Private Guided Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Madaba Mount Nebo and Baptism Private Guided Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amman?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amman?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
