    About this experience

Laboratory: a place for experimentation, discovery, and invention. Most mocktail experiences teach you how to make their drinks. This one is designed for you to create your own. Rather than following a script, you’ll explore an ever-evolving zero-proof drink lab with hundreds of ingredients—syrups, bitters, teas, spices, fresh citrus, and non-alcoholic spirits—plus specialty tools like smoking guns, test tubes, and shaker sets. It’s a chance to experiment with bold flavors, unexpected combinations, and creative techniques you likely wouldn’t try at home. After the introduction, the experience becomes intentionally open-ended, so each guest can take a different creative path. Your host acts as a friendly “head scientist,” offering guidance when needed while keeping the atmosphere playful, welcoming, and judgment-free. Contact us directly if you have any large group inquiries for team building, parties, and other group activities.

    Strange Brews

We had a fantastic time learning about the ingredients and combinations, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, that result into myriad of flavors, both complex and clean. It was great getting to create cloudy smoky beverages with a blowtorch, creating theatrical cocktails, and learning the nuances of bitters, of freeze-dried v roasted non-perishable ingredients. We also had a lot of fun watching the theatrical components of the Greenfire space, which is a bit like a cirque performance. Last but not least, it is always great fun to become another character, mad scientists all in craft cocktail making.

    From the moment I stepped...

From the moment I stepped into the space at Melrose Market and headed upstairs, I was immediately immersed in the experience. You’re greeted, handed a lab coat, and invited to choose your own scientist name, which sets the tone right away. I went with Dr. Love (because Love is my middle name , and from there, it was pure fun. This isn’t just a tasting it’s a hands-on, science-based mixology experience. You get to experiment with fresh ingredients, explore flavor combinations, and create cocktails and mocktails that are both intentional and delicious. It truly feels like stepping into a playful lab where creativity and curiosity lead the way. I loved the variety of ingredients, the choices, and the freedom to create. You’re not just drinking you’re learning, experimenting, and having fun. I went alone and had an amazing time, but this would be perfect for friends, groups, or a special outing. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something interactive, joyful, and different. I can’t wait to do it again .

Perfect for Solo Travelers Who Love Something Different

I went solo and was a little nervous walking in, but the second I put on the lab coat it felt like I’d stepped into my own tiny science movie. The host was warm and attentive without hovering, and made it super easy to mingle if you wanted or quietly tinker at your station if you didn’t. By the end I’d met a few new people and had a stack full of mocktail ideas I can recreate at home.

    Strange Brewing with Weird Science-Witchy!

Had a fun, rewarding time learning about molecular science, organic chemistry, craft cocktails, and flavor combos. It was truly fun, and wonderful to try dufferent flavor combos, be encoyraged to recreate distilled spirits, try all the bitters. I learned plum bitters smell and taste just like bubble gum! The theatrical stagecraft as well was super fun. It's great for families, couples, work parties, events, retreats with morale building, and more! Excited to go back!

    Very interesting mixology experience.

As a non‑drinker, I usually skip anything ‘mixology,’ but this workshop was made for someone like me. I booked by myself and never once felt out of place. The instructor checked in about my preferences and gently nudged me to try flavors I wouldn’t pick on my own. I left with three legit bar‑worthy mocktails, a better sense of how to balance sweet/sour/bitter, and a big grin on my face.

Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seattle.

How much does Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop cost?

    +

Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seattle usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seattle is not rushed.

Is Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seattle, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seattle can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seattle and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mad Scientist Drink Fusion Lab, A Mocktail Focused Workshop start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seattle within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Seattle?

    +

Seattle's best days leave the city: Mount Rainier, the San Juans, Olympic National Park and Snoqualmie Falls are all day-trip range, and each one lives or dies on the driver-guide. In town, Pike Place food tours, underground history walks and harbour cruises dominate. Our ranking favours operators with small vans over full coaches on the mountain runs. On Outty we rank every Seattle experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mt. Rainier Day Tour from Seattle, Seattle City and Snoqualmie Falls Half-Day Guided Tour, Mt. Rainier National Park Highlights Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Seattle?

    +

June to September for clear Rainier views and reliable ferry weather. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Seattle?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
