Colossi of Memnon
The Colossi of Memnon (Arabic: el-Colossat or es-Salamat) are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which stand at the front of the ruined Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, the largest temple in the Theban Necropolis. They have stood since 1350 BC, and were well known to ancient Greeks and Romans, as well as early modern travelers and Egyptologists. The statues contain 107 Roman-era inscriptions in Greek and Latin, dated to between AD 20 and 250; many of these inscriptions on the northernmost statue make reference to the Greek mythological king Memnon, whom the statue was then – erroneously – thought to represent.

Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings is also known as the Valley of the Gates. It is a valley in Luxor, Egypt where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock-cut tombs were excavated for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties of Ancient Egypt). The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. The wadi consists of two valleys: the East Valley (where the majority of the royal tombs are situated) and the West Valley (Valley of the Monkeys). Almost all of the tombs seem to have been opened and robbed in antiquity, but they still give an idea of the opulence and power of the pharaohs

Luxor Temple
The Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city today known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was constructed approximately 1400 BCE. In the Egyptian language it was known as ipet resyt, "the southern sanctuary". It was one of the two primary temples on the east bank, the other being Karnak. Unlike the other temples in Thebes, Luxor temple is not dedicated to a cult god or a deified version of the pharaoh in death. Instead, Luxor temple is dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship; it may have been where many of the pharaohs of Egypt were crowned in reality or conceptually (as in the case of Alexander the Great, who claimed he was crowned at Luxor but may never have traveled south of Memphis, near modern Cairo). Along with the other archeological sites in Thebes, the Luxor Temple was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.

Amazing Trip with Great Support Throughout
I recently visited Luxor through Luxor Safe Tours and Taxi travel agency, and I had a wonderful experience. Excellent West Bank Day with Ahmed
I had a fantastic full-day West Bank tour in Luxor with Ahmed as my driver, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, Ahmed (and Mido, who helped coordinate) were friendly, professional, and very flexible. They were happy to adjust the plan throughout the day and made sure I was able to visit exactly the sites I wanted, at my own pace. Ahmed was always waiting right where I needed him, never rushed me, and was very attentive. Everything ran smoothly, and it was clear they genuinely wanted me to have a great experience rather than just follow a fixed schedule. I had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend Mido and his team to anyone visiting Luxor and looking for a reliable, flexible, and friendly driver for the West Bank!

A fantastic two days in Luxor
We had a great experience using Luxor Safe Tours. We came to Egypt as our 8 year old was studying Ancient Egypt and we wanted him to experience everything first hand. We had a wonderful tour guide Sawsan who was so enthusiastic and held so much knowledge which she happily shared with us in a way that engaged my 8 year old. On our first day Sawsan took us to Valley of the Kings, which was absolutely the highlight of our trip. She was such a great guide and helped us choose the best tombs for us to visit. She shared so much knowledge with us about the history of Valley of the kings and each of the pharoes and their tombs. After Valley of the Kings we went to have a walk around the temple of Hatshepsut and then did a quick photo stop at Colossi Memnon. We really enjoyed this trip and we felt completely safe and taken care of, making it a very relaxing morning. On our second day we did the East bank visiting Karnak and Luxor temples. This was also a great morning, we learnt so much about the hsitory of these spectacular temples. My son also loved seeing the Avenue of the Sphinxes. We also did a lovely sunset felucca ride on the river Nile. We were picked up by our driver taken to the boat and he accompanied us on the boat. It was all very easy and stress free. Overall our experience with this tour company and with Sawsan as our guide was wonderful. We felt completely safe and taken care of and the it made the 2 days completely stress-free and we felt we learnt so much about Ancient Egypt. Our driver Amr was also really sweet and was with us for the two days.

Reliable and safe
Samir has saved us from a lot of hassles and to not waste time. Making everything much smoother , he is reliable, friendly and polite . He even buy us water and sugarcane . We have had a wonderful time with Samir .
