    Perfect tour

Thank you very much Zsofie for taking the time and showing us the signature and especially your favorite places around Viktuelienmarkt. It was very tasty, we had a lot of fun and also learnt a lot! We really appreciated your friendly approach, palette of topics you can cover and especially your sassy Bavarian sense of humor. Wishing you the best of luck and many very satisfied participants in the future! P.S. Don’t have any breakfast guys, you’ll be full! [😇]

Response from the operator: WOW! What a lovely review! We are so happy to read that you loved your foodie adventure with Zsofi! We hope to see you again soon! :)

Super fun and filling food experience

We had a fantastic time with Tony on our tour. He was engaging, hilarious and very knowledgeable. We traveled with our 16 and 19 year old kids and he was great with them, making sure to keep them interested and participating. You eat ALOT of food on this trip, and drink, so the advice about not eating breakfast should be heeded. It's also advisable to bring an empty bag for leftovers. Our remaining snackes got us through the rest of our time in Munich.

Response from the operator: YAY! Thanks so much for this lovely review! We are so happy to read that you had a great time on the original Munich food tour with Tony! Visit us again soon! :)

    Great tour with Hugo

We had the best time!!!! Hugo, our tour guide was incredible! I felt like I was hanging out with an old friend all day! The tour was in the market which was nice because we saw so many things we not have, and there was not a lot of waking like in many tours. The food selections were amazing and fun. I felt like a local. My kids 21 and 17 both said it was the best food tour they had ever done and they have done many! I can not recommend this tour with Hugo enough!!

Response from the operator: YAY! Thanks so much for this fabulous feedback! We are so happy to read that you loved your food tour with Hugo! Visit us again soon! :)

    Excellent activity for the day!

We had an excellent time with this tour and Hugo today. I felt like we got a lot of different things to try for a very good price. We ended up with a very small group and were able to chat with each other and Hugo and get our questions answered. I highly suggest this tour and learning about the market in Munich.

Response from the operator: YAY! Thanks so much, Samantha! We are so happy to read that you had a great time on Munich's original food tour! We hope to see you again soon! :)

Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $160 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 462 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour?

    +

Around 162 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Lunch Like a Local: Munich's ORIGINAL Viktualienmarkt Food Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
