Disappointed
The chief and I have used viator many times so when this tour popped up we took it. Lucca is a lovely town so we enjoyed the tour. Our guide was friendly but as a private tour we had some disappointments. The night before the tour I contacted the operator and told her what hotel we were in and where should we meet. The appointed spot was a 10 minute walk which was fine but the tour ended right around the corner from our hotel so why not meet there? The tour said 3 hours, but it was just shy of 2. And we would have liked to hear more about life in Lucca. For the cost it wasn’t worth it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed Lucca and found the guide friendly. We regret that some aspects of the private tour did not fully meet your expectations. Meeting points are usually set in advance for operational reasons, and we might not be able to accomodate last minute special requests. Regarding the duration, the tour timing may vary slightly depending on pace and interests, but we will check internally why the tour lasted less than expected. We appreciate your suggestion about including more insights into daily life in Lucca and will take it into account to further improve the experience.

Getting to Know Lucca
My husband and I were introduced to Lucca by Amanda who was our guide for a walking tour. Amanda provided the best way for us to become more familiar with the city. Lucca has a rich history and this was best learned from Amanda who was a former art history teacher. She was informative and very accommodating to our questions, pace and interest. She even showed us a great cafe which we returned to several times. I highly recommend Amanda and this tour!
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We're delighted you enjoyed our tour in Lucca. Our team works hard to ensure a great time, and we're glad it showed.

Quick tour of Lucca
A private tour is a great way to see the city in a short time. Would miss a lot without a tour, as Lucca is a tiny town with a lot of charm and history We ate at Nonna Clara for lunch. We climbed the tower. Wonderful experience
Response from the operator: Ciao! Thank you for choosing us, we look forward to showing you more beautiful places in the future!

Walking tour of walled city of Lucca
Roberto was an incredibly informed and charming guide. He made the history of Lucca come alive with his stories and always had a quick (and usually humorous) answer to all of our questions. We highly, highly Roberto for any tour of Lucca and the surround areas!
Response from the operator: We can’t thank you enough for your kind word! Roberto will be happy to read them!

Great tour guide!
Maria was a fabulous guide. I have been to Lucca before but learned new things from Maria. Her pace was perfect and she was very personable. Would definitely recommend her. 10 out of 10!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you Becky

Lucca Private Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lucca.
How much does Lucca Private Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $166 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lucca usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lucca Private Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lucca is not rushed.
Is Lucca Private Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lucca, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lucca Private Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lucca Private Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lucca Private Walking Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lucca can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lucca and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lucca Private Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lucca within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lucca?
+
On Outty we rank every Lucca experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tuscan Wine Tour in Lucca by van, Lucca’s Ultimate Food Tour: Full Tuscan Meal by Do Eat Better, Lucca Bikes and Bites with food tastings for Small Groups or Private. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lucca?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lucca?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Lucca Private Walking Tour?
+
Included: Tour privato; and Guida certificata. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
What languages is Lucca Private Walking Tour offered in?
+
It is offered in English and Italian. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

+
