We Found Our Lucca Familia!

If you’re looking for an experience with an Italian familia, this is the one!! Monica and Paola were such gracious and loving hosts. They took every measure to make sure our experience was beautiful and filled with knowledge and learning and the sense of familia. We learned to make two kinds of pasta from scratch, we tasted different flours and talked about how ingredients affect the final product. Everything we used was fresh and organic. We enjoyed a delicious bread “chip” as an antipasti, and then delicious bruschetta so flavorful. We sampled a beautiful ricotta with homemade herbed olive oil and herbed salt. We made the pasta and then cooked it. To serve the pasta, it was complemented by two very different but equally delicious sauces and a delightful red wine. We had an option of two desserts to choose from and enjoyed each very much, along with a delightful dessert wine. Monica takes great pride in being able to really effectively teach the students proper technique and innate cooking lore that will help them reproduce the dishes learned in Lucca when they return home. She inspired both of us to consider more cooking with fresh and organic ingredients. This experience was definitely a highlight of our adventure and we would highly recommend and repeat when we are in Lucca again.

Great Italian experience

We had an amazing time with our guide Monica in Lucca. She took extra care to make sure we all had a go, made us feel like we were cooking with friends and family altogether and took the time to explain all that goes into making pasta from scratch. Highly recommend Monica!

Unforgettable Expereince

Monica was an exceptional teacher who provided us with an unforgettable learning experience. Her warm hospitality and genuine care made us feel like family. She is passionate about sharing the authentic traditions and explained each step with meaning. Not only will I cherish the lessons she taught , but I will also treasure the memories I created with my mom. Monica’s kindness and expertise ensured that we had the best class experience. It felt like I was back in my nonna’s kitchen, reliving childhood memories. Thank you, Monica, for creating an experience that I can share with my mother, a memory we will cherish forever. I am excited to practice my pasta-making and tiramisu skills at home and sharing them with my friends and family. This was an experience I will never forget, and I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of it. Thank you once again for your incredible experience, and I highly recommend this class to anyone. I would also like to express my gratitude to Monica for her teaching.

Absolutely amazing experience

Our pasta-making class with Rossana and Alberto was absolutely incredible! It was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy and such a special experience from start to finish. They were both so warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing their love of Italian food and culture. The class was not only fun and hands-on, but we learned so much about making authentic Italian pasta. Everything we made was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere felt so personal and relaxed. Rossana and Alberto made us feel like we were spending the day with old friends rather than simply attending a cooking class. We couldn’t recommend this experience more! If you’re visiting Italy, this is an experience you absolutely need to add to your trip. Thank you, Rossana and Alberto, for such a memorable and wonderful experience—we will be talking about this pasta class for years to come! ❤️

That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 217 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lucca, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lucca and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lucca?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lucca?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
