What you get

    About this experience

Go on a boat ride from Lovina beach with a captain to see dolphins in the ocean. The boat is safe, comfortable, and has all the necessary equipment for sailing. In the morning, dolphins come to Lovina waters to find food and play. Look out for them, get close, and enjoy watching them jump and swim while the sun rises. After you spot dolphins while on the boat, you can go swimming and see them from underwater. You can hold onto a piece of wood that is attached to the boat and swim alongside the dolphins. After finish watching the dolphins, you will have some time to go snorkeling in the lovina water. It's a great place to see pretty coral reefs, different kinds of fish underwater. The Dolphin adventure will take about 3 hours, but it could be shorter or longer depending on how long you spend watching the dolphins. Before heading back to your stay we can stop at lunch stop or lake bratan temple with your personal expenses.

    Poor experience

I was not going to leave a review however because we were continually asked for a 5 star review, we decide to leave one. We booked this due to the hype of this excursion on TikTok. The driver was very nice and pleasant for the ride there. However when we got to Lovina, the dolphin experience was not worth the almost three hour drive…Upon arrival the boat driver definitely did not speak English as advertised ( which not trying to be rude or disrespectful but for this type of excursion I feel it is needed for safety) and he was also quite rude when we were asking questions he would suck his teeth and make faces. Also there was no explanation of the boat /rules and or safety procedures. The buckles on life vests were broken. The snorkeling equipment my husband used (goggles with nose piece) was too big and or broken and when we asked to change it the driver was rudely sucking his teeth. Then he was speeding while we were holding on to catch the dolphins to the point where you’re literally fighting for your life to hold on and not swallow water and or get left in the dust by the boat yet we still managed to be the furthest boat from the dolphins. There were many other boats out that morning with us and it seemed like their drivers were going slower and the tourists were having an enjoyable ride. It’s also advertised that there is breakfast and coffee- this is not true as the fruit we were offered was a really chalky banana and the coffee was given from a questionable thermos and unknown water source so we did not drink it. The only thing that made this worth the money was the good 10 seconds of dolphin watching as well as the 15-20 minutes we spent snorkeling at the coral reef. He did not rush us and we could have stayed longer but at that point we just wanted to go home. Snorkeling at that reef was beautiful there were so many fish up close. After getting off the boat, you are approached by locals that are trying to sell bracelets and other souvenirs to you which we did buy to support. However, once you buy from one of them, they all come chasing at the same time it’s very overwhelming. Just letting you know what to expect.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.

How much does Lovina Dolphin Watching, Swimming, and Snorkeling Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $535000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lovina Dolphin Watching, Swimming, and Snorkeling Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.

Is Lovina Dolphin Watching, Swimming, and Snorkeling Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 148 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lovina Dolphin Watching, Swimming, and Snorkeling Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Lovina Dolphin Watching, Swimming, and Snorkeling Experience suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Lovina Dolphin Watching, Swimming, and Snorkeling Experience?

    +

Around 52 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Lovina Dolphin Watching, Swimming, and Snorkeling Experience start and how do I get there?

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
