    3. La Brea Tar Pits & Museum

The Tar Pits have fascinated scientists and visitors for over a century, and today, this area is the only actively excavated Ice Age fossil site found in an urban location in the world! Over the last 50,000 years, Ice Age animals, plants, and insects were trapped in sticky asphalt, which preserved them for us to find today. More than 100 excavations have been made at the Tar Pits since the early 1900s, and most of the fossils discovered here are housed in the museum at La Brea Tar Pits, at the center of the Tar Pits! The discoveries range in size from huge, extinct mammoths and sloths to "microfossils," or tiny remains of plants and animals that give us clues about how ancient ecosystems and climates changed.

    A Great Afternoon Adventure

It was like having a friend showing you around Mircle Mile. Good conversations with good insight from our guide, Luce. We felt very safe, comfortable. It was a wonderful experience "cruising" around the streets of Los Angeles. Thank you, Luce for a great day! We look forward to our next segway adventure.

    It's the city-not the Segways

We had Harvey as our guide, and bless him, he did his best to make the tour entertaining and interesting. He is an interesting and knowledgeable guy but LA is neither an interesting nor a cultural city... unless you like celebrities and want to try peek a glimpse of them like a safari. We had hoped that this tour would show a little bit of the history and culture of the city... there isn't any outside the studios. Even the tar pits, although interesting is so small, 10 minutes and you are done. So despite Harvey's best efforts, there really wasn't much to see on this particular tour. The only place in the city we really enjoyed was the beach, so maybe the Santa Monica tour would be better suited for the less interested in celebrities. Wouldn't recommend this particular one, because there is very little to see. The office and the staff however were lovely, they just didn't have much to work with.

Response from the operator: Dear Joanna, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We are very sorry to hear that the Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour was not the right fit for what you were hoping to experience. We are happy to know that Harvey did his best to make the tour entertaining and interesting, and we truly appreciate your kind words about him, our office, and our staff. At the same time, we understand that this particular route did not deliver the level of history, culture, or sightseeing that you were looking for. Los Angeles can be a very unique city to experience, and different neighborhoods appeal to different interests. Based on your comments, we agree that a coastal experience such as Santa Monica or Venice may have been a better match for your preferences, especially with your enjoyment of the beach. Thank you again for choosing Another Side Tours and for giving us the opportunity to host you. We truly appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us continue improving the way we match guests with the best possible tour experience. Warmly, Kenneth C. Lippman President & CEO Another Side Tours, Inc.

Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Angeles.

How much does Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Angeles usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Angeles is not rushed.

Is Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Los Angeles, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Angeles can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Angeles and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Los Angeles Miracle Mile Segway Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Angeles within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Los Angeles?

    +

Los Angeles rewards travellers who cluster their bookings by geography rather than by theme. Studio tours and Hollywood walks sit inland, the Malibu and Santa Monica coast runs west, and Griffith Observatory and the canyon hikes work best at dawn or dusk. We weight transport clarity in the ranking here: whether pickup is included changes an LA day more than the tour itself. On Outty we rank every Los Angeles experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hollywood Sign 2.5-Hour Tour with Comedians and Their Dogs, Los Angeles Hollywood Sign Hike: Front, Behind, and Expert Guide, Los Angeles Original 90-Minute Walking Tour to The Hollywood Sign. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Los Angeles?

    +

March to May and September to November, for clear air and open canyon roads. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Los Angeles?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
