Most enjoyable late afternoon lunch.
Really great belated lunch with a beautiful view of the Batoka Gorge

A Scam!
Initially I called the restaurant to book a table at 1pm, the time I would be done with my first tour of the day and before the second one, so timing was a bit tight. The restaurant said they were fully booked for the day but I could come on a walk-in basis, but I didn't want to risk. I then went to TripAdvisor to see what they had. In TripAdvisor they advertised a table at Lookout Cafe for the exact date and time I needed. Unfortunately they didn't offer the program for one person, I booked the program for two anyway. Being suspicious that they offered what the restaurant said they didn't have I called the restaurant to check if they confirmed that reservation for which I gave all the details. They said they didn't have any reservation for that company and details. I contacted the local tour operator I booked via TripAdvisor and mentioned this to them. They said they found this strange but said not to worry because they had everything in hands. So I did. As I had a driver for the day I said I would meet their representative at the restaurant. He was there, a little bit delayed. For my surprise he direct me to the walk-in desk (hey! Were we not supposed to have a table reserved as promised by them many times?). I waited for 30 minutes and no table came up and I had to give up because I didn't want to risk my next program and was very upset with their deception (not to say scam). Look at the situation: 1) They don't make any reservation, it's the same situation as if I show up there by myself. 2) They charge 210.00 USD, for two persons, even if it one person only, I doubt a meal for two persons would cost as much directly at the restaurant. At the restaurant, after 30 minutes wait, I filmed and described the situation, with the operator representative by my side as a proof of what was going on. Later they emailed me saying that they reported me to the police because I made the film. Conclusion: 1) Never book this program at Trip Advisor, it's a scam and they should remove it from their site, big SHAME for Trip Advisor for having it. listed. 2) The name of the local operator is Revival Safaris and Tours - Avoid them at all costs. 3) Finally, per obvious, I demand the money I paid, refunded to me immediately.

We fully appreciate how upsetting this must have been, especially after you had taken the additional step of contacting the restaurant beforehand to verify the reservation. We also regret the distress caused by the subsequent communication regarding the filming of the situation. We understand that, from your perspective, the circumstances were extremely frustrating. Please be assured that we take the concerns you have raised very seriously. We will conduct a thorough investigation into what happened, including the booking arrangements, communication with the restaurant, the service provided by the local representative, and the circumstances surrounding your visit. We want to establish clearly what transpired and address any shortcomings identified. We are truly sorry that your experience fell so far short of what you expected and that your visit to Victoria Falls was affected by this situation. Superb location
What a superb location, right on the gorge. Vic Falls railway Bridge and zip linning can be seen. The views are just beautiful. Delightful and good variety of menu and drinks. Super friendly staff. However book your table, it gets so busy. Our waiter Marco Polo was so nice.

Second time lucky
Went for dinner and made the mistake of going after dark. No moon so pitch dark outside. Food and service was great. Went back the next day for lunch and could enjoy the snack platter for 2 on the terrace while enjoying the lovely views. Modern setting with a feel of class.

Great stop after seeing the falls
What a perfect spot to grab lunch! The view is exceptional. Food and service was fantastic. Bonus to see warthogs on the lawn 😄. Just make sure to make reservations well in advance.
