    Outstanding Historical Tour

We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Tony. His knowledge was impressive, and he made every location come alive with interesting stories and historical background. Comfortable transport, perfect organization, and a fantastic guide made this a five-star experience.

Don’t go with this tour group, don’t turn up and don’t give you a refund

Starting time advised 8.00 am. No one showed up or called or answered the phone when we called repeatedly. At 10.30 am a person turned up and blamed us for the wrong hotel, we checked and we gave the correct information and the tour guide made the mistake. The other hotel was 5 minutes away so obviously a lie to cover the mistake. Why did they not call or answered the phone when we called repeatedly. As our time was limited in Ho Chi Minh and we had no idea what was happening as all calls were ignored we booked another tour. The hotel helped us out here. We have requested a refund numerous times and have now given up. $400 down the drain which is a lot of money.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. For the benefit of future travelers, we would like to clarify what happened on the day of your tour. Before the tour, we confirmed your pickup details through both the Viator messaging platform and WhatsApp. On the morning of the tour, our guide arrived at the pickup location specified in your booking and waited for over 30 minutes. During this time, we also attempted to contact you by phone, WhatsApp, and the Viator messaging platform, but unfortunately received no response. Because this was a private tour, our guide and driver did not leave after the scheduled pickup time. Instead, they continued searching nearby Liberty Hotels with similar names and eventually located you at approximately 9:15 AM at a different Liberty Hotel from the pickup address shown in your booking. When we met you, we remained ready to operate your private tour. However, you decided not to proceed. We understand how confusing it can be when hotels have similar names, and we truly regret that this misunderstanding affected your experience. Nevertheless, we hope future travelers can be reassured that our team remained committed throughout the morning, made every reasonable effort to locate you, and did everything possible to ensure your tour could still take place. We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best in your future travels.

    Great experience!

Sergeant Dao ( or Tony) was a fantastic guide for the trip. His first hand experience of the Australian operations and the base was enlightening and helped paint the picture of the time and place. My son and I thank You To y for sharing this with us.

Friendly and informative guide by a veteran

81 years young. Tony was an interpreter for the ANZACs in 1966, and remembers.the base and the battles personally. Happy to answer any questions, Tony is friendly and helpful as he guides you to the old places and tells you about the changes.

Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget": questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.

How much does Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget" cost?

    +

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget" take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ho Chi Minh City is not rushed.

Is Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget" worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget"?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget" suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget"?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Long Tan Battlefield Day Tour - "Lest We Forget" start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
