What you'll see and do

  1. Lodhi Garden

Delhi's loveliest escape was originally named after the wife of the British Resident, Lady Willingdon, who had two villages cleared in 1936 in order to landscape a park containing the Lodi-era tombs. Today, these lush, tree-shaded gardens – a favoured getaway for Delhi's elite, local joggers and courting couples – help protect more than 100 species of trees and more than 50 species of birds and butterflies as well as half a dozen or so fabulously captivating 15th-century Mughal monuments.

Lodhi Gardens Worth a Visit

The Lodhi gardens is a must-see. Very beautiful and full of great history. Our tour guide was a contractor though and had never been to the gardens so didn’t have much information to give us which was a let-down as there is so much history there. We had a bit of trouble finding our driver and then had to wait to pick up our tour guide so we started about an hour late. However, the tour operator was very helpful and responsive when we were having trouble finding the driver. I think in the future if we went to lodhi gardens again, we’d skip the Viator tour and just go alone.

Response from the operator: Lodhi Gardens is indeed one of Delhi’s most atmospheric spots, with its blend of greenery and centuries-old architecture making it especially rich in history and character. It’s good to hear you still found the location itself beautiful and meaningful despite the challenges faced during the guided portion of the experience. That said, it’s understandable how the lack of familiarity from the guide and the delay in coordination impacted the overall flow of your tour, especially in a place where context can add so much value. It’s also reassuring that the tour operator remained responsive and supportive while sorting out the logistics, even if the overall experience didn’t fully meet expectations. Appreciate you sharing such honest feedback—reflections like yours are important for improving consistency, and I hope your future explorations in Delhi bring you a much smoother and more enriching experience!

Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk cost?

+

Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk take?

+

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Lodhi Garden Heritage Walk start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

+

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
