Best guide ever!
This is the guy you want to take your tour with! Very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The other things you see beyond Loch Ness are probably what make the trip. It’s definitely worth the money to not be apart of a huge group.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the fantastic review and the high recommendation! I'm glad you felt that going private was worth it and that you enjoyed all the extra hidden gems along the way to Loch Ness. It truly is the best way to see the country without the big crowds. I hope to see you back in Scotland again someday! Best, Waseem

A Wonderful Journey Through the Highlands
If you are looking for a seamless, enriching, and stress-free way to experience the Scottish Highlands, look no further. Our family recently spent a full day touring from Edinburgh, and the experience exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we were picked up, it was clear we were in expert hands. Traveling with a large family—including young children—can often be a logistical challenge, but our guide was perfectly prepared. He provided car seats that were already properly installed, saving us a massive amount of stress. Even when the Scottish weather turned predictably "moody," his driving was steady and professional; we felt completely safe and at ease despite the wind and rain. What truly set this tour apart was the depth of knowledge shared throughout the day. Waseem didn’t just recite facts; he told the story of Scotland with a passion for history that kept everyone engaged. He had a remarkable ability to bring the landscapes to life, connecting the scenery to the clans and events that shaped the country. He also went above and beyond by tailoring the itinerary on the fly to make sure we saw the highlights that mattered most to us. He made special stops so we could get up close with some iconic Highland cows, which was a huge hit for the kids, and coordinated a fantastic visit to a local distillery for the adults. Kind, dependable, and incredibly accommodating, he treated our family with genuine warmth. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, making the entire day feel personal and relaxed. I cannot recommend this guide highly enough. If you want a dependable professional who genuinely cares about your experience, this is the person to book. 10/10!
Response from the operator: Wow, what an incredible review! Thank you so much for the glowing feedback. I’m absolutely thrilled that the trip was so seamless and stress-free for your family, especially with the kids on board! Making sure the car seats were ready and keeping the drive safe through that moody Scottish weather is always my top priority. It was a real pleasure tailoring the day for you – from the Highland coos for the kids to the distillery stop for the adults—and sharing Scotland's history along the way. I hope to welcome you all back for another adventure someday! Best, Waseem

Great day
Very knowledgeable of the area and history. We took plenty of time at each stop and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the great review! I'm really glad you enjoyed the pace of the trip and had plenty of time to take everything in at each stop. It was a real pleasure showing you around and sharing a bit of our history with you. Hope to welcome you back to Scotland again someday! Best, Waseem

Best Loch Ness Tour
Had a great time and learned a lot about Scotland in the process. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. It is a long trip but they knew when to take breaks and asked us repeatedly if we needed any. The vehicle is big enough for a small group but small enough that it gets to visit some places where big tour busses are not allowed.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the fantastic review! I’m glad you enjoyed the trip and that the pace worked well for you on the longer drive. That is spot on about the minibus – being able to escape the big tour bus crowds and head down those narrower roads to the quieter, hidden spots is exactly what makes private tours so special! I hope to see you back in Scotland again someday. Best, Waseem

I truly appreciate you recommending me to anyone heading to Edinburgh. Hope to see you back for another adventure someday! Best, Waseem

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.
How much does Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh cost?
+
Prices start at $600 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.
Is Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?
+
On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands, Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe & Fort William, Edinburgh Ghost Tour: Mysteries, Legends and Murders. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Edinburgh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
