Roll with Rose
Went on the premium foodtour in Hanoi tonight. We had a brilliant evening. We tried a lot food and drinks which we otherwise would not have tried. Rose also taught us a lot about the history of food, Hanoi and Vietnam. Rose is also very friendly, funny and reliable.

Package tour for families in Vietnam
We had an amazing family trip to Vietnam with our 2.5-year-old child. Everything was perfectly organized from beginning to end, which made the journey very comfortable and stress-free for our family. A special thank you to Rose and her colleagues, especially Dat in Hoi An and our driver Thang. They were all extremely kind, professional, and very competent throughout the trip. Their support, organization, and friendliness made our experience even more enjoyable and memorable. The itinerary was excellent and well balanced. Hanoi was vibrant and exciting, with great food and plenty to explore. Cat Ba Island was relaxing and family-friendly, and the Lan Ha Bay cruise was one of the highlights of our trip. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the boat was comfortable, and the staff were very caring and attentive, especially with our little child. Ninh Binh was peaceful and stunning, with incredible landscapes and enjoyable boat rides. Hoi An was charming and magical, especially in the evening with all the lanterns and atmosphere. It was also a great place to walk around with a young child. All hotels, transportation, and activities were very well arranged, and everything ran smoothly and on time. We truly appreciated how easy and comfortable the whole experience was while traveling as a family with a toddler. We highly recommend this Vietnam tour package for families looking for a beautiful, well-organized, and memorable trip through Vietnam.

Authentic Vietnamese Cooking Class in a Local Home
3 reasons we loved our market tour and cooking class with Rose: 1) This is a private tour and class, so no big group, lots of personal attention and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and customize the experience. We asked Rose about certain herbs and fruits in the market and without hesitation she bought them for us to try. Her assistant even went to the market to get us some extra good quality rice paper to take home. 2) The cooking class takes place at Rose's home, away from the tourist areas, so it feels like a very local experience. Almost like visiting friends. 3) This isn't just some vegetable chopping and stirring in a pot, but a real class where you learn actual techniques, like the best way to roll spring rolls. We've done other cooking classes in Thailand and Vietnam before but only now have we learned to do it properly. But the main reason to choose this tour and class is Rose: sociable, funny, knowledgeable, proud of Vietnam and its cuisine and on top of that she speaks perfect English. Thanks again for one of the highlights of our trip. Cảm ơn!

Cooking at the home of Chef Rose in Hanoi
I was treated to a private cooking class in the home of Chef Rose - the kitchen was arranged as a professional space to teach yet was the family home - I met her charming daughter and other family members. We walked a few blocks to the local market to purchase ingredients. Each recipe was broken down I can definitely create these back at home in Chicago. This was all hands on - exactly what I wanted. Had a huge yummy meal I can’t believe I was so lucky!!! If you are looking to cook while visiting Hanoi schedule time with Rose.

Favorite Hanoi Experience
My friends and I did the food tour with Rose (the guide) in Hanoi in the Old quarter. It was my favorite thing we have done in Vietnam. Rose was so knowledgeable about the food and cooking and taught us about Vietnam’s history and culture along the way. We tried everything from Pho to Banh Mi to ice cream with sticky rice. I could not recommend her enough!

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class cost?
+
Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 107 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class?
+
Around 37 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Local Market Tour and Private Cooking Class start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
